What are the criticisms? I for one noticed that the top ua accounts look identical to the top witnesses and suspect the reason is that trust is originating from those witnesses. But I have not studied the math in detail.
I also would like to understand their bots stake based rewards and revenue structure in general.

The problem is there is no math behind steem-ua. Their rank algorithm is closed to us. Tell me why my rank is different than Yours, only steem-ua knows ;)
This can lead to alternative reputation manipulation.

He said I was hacked or people are psychic because multiple people DM him about us talking. I only know one person who knew so I asked who else which he refused to mention and that’s where this came from.

I mean you run a upvote bot which can potentially utilize the UA algo for curation/quality control , so I wouldn't even be surprised if you were "talking" ...

No, the whole issue is I said I had concerns about UA and how people jumping all over it blindly and want to do some due diligence and do testing before it gets turned into a vote bot with free Steemit Inc stake (which is his ultimate goal).
I had laid out a bunch of concerns on the announcement posts , as long as they keep making upgrades on the algo and keep diversifying the criteria the idea has potential to be meaningful.

I think you have valid concerns but we should wait and see how the steem community benefits from steem-ua as there is a lot of potential I think.
I do agree that it is essential that the rating system is fair and transparent and as such steem-ua should be open source. I got Scipio's reassurance that this will be the case so let's wait and see.
There is definitely some kind of a craze going on at the moment and I for one have delegated my only 300SPs to the project, not that it makes a big difference in the process.
I must say that the backing of utopian has played a big part in my decision to delegate. But hopefully we are not all being too naive.
I don't think utopian could sustain a position to support software that is not open, transparent and fair. So let's wait and see.
With over 200k SPs delegation steem-ua sees itself with great influence on the steem platform and for now I trust the guys behind steem-ua to use it wisely. I'll keep monitoring how they are doing.
I think @scipio should withdraw the comment about lightsteem and apologise for it. Regardless of the concerns raised about steem-ua it's inappropriate and not relevant to the topic of discussion.

300k delegation is peanuts. UA should go open-source when it has enough traction to solidify it's first movers advantage. Any attempts of open-sourcing at this point will undermine it, bot operators will appropriate it for themselves without paying dues to the people who created it.

For the time that I've been using steem-ua it has gone well. There's quite a few people apart of it that I have seen around steem and liked enough that compelled me to join. Weird seeing a response like this from the creator...
