Things Don't Go As Planned
Here's today's post for @future24's Steemit Monthly Author Challenge (SMAC) where I get to make a post about my life each day, for 30 days.
Today was a good illustration of how I tend to live my life. I get an idea to do something. It doesn't work out as planned. I adjust and move onto the next thing.
This morning was beautifully sunny so we decided to go to the Marina Sunday market to hunt for vintage goodies to use in my art. However, what I had't realised was just how cold it was.
The market is held on the top of a multi-story car park and the wind was howling so, by the time we got there, most of the stalls had packed up and gone.
We packed up and went home too. 😢
After lunch we ventured out again, this time with the sole intention of taking some photos I could use in my Steemit posts.
The best I could do was this rather quaint English countryside Post Box which I feel is a good enough expression of a day in my life, me being English and all! 😁
We had originally driven to a place where snowdrops grow in profusion with the idea of taking some stunning shots in the sunlight. But the sun went behind the clouds and the shots were just sort of OK.
After an hour or so of looking I couldn't find anything more very interesting so we decided to call in at the garden centre and maybe try my luck there.
That turned out to be an excellent move as, who should we bump into, but my daughter and her family. She's not been well this last week so it was lovely to see her out and about. Made my day!
I took some fairly nice shots there, which will appear in future posts, and then went up the hill and took some beautiful shots as the sun went down.
The next wonderful surprise was caming home to a wonderful post from @whatamidoing which actually has "gillianpearce you rock" in the title. Brought tears to my eyes.
You can read my response on the post itself but go check him out anyway. You won't be disappointed and he deserves your support. He puts a lot of time in supporting minnows and writes authentic, heatfelt posts as well as running the Dead Post Initiative which rewards undervalued posts!
So, all in all, a day of surprises. Not what I planned and better than I had imagined, which is so often the way of things! 😍
