Hello Uloggers! I went back to #Ulog: 04 me and enjoyed a really beautiful day at #Ulog! :)
Life is only known to be on planet Earth. The origin of life is still a poorly understood process, but it is estimated to have occurred about 3.9 - 3.5 billion years ago during the Hadean or Archean periods in the primordial earth that had an environment substantially different than that found today. [60] The life form has the nature of self-replication and inherited traits. After life emerges, the process of evolution by natural selection results in the development of more diverse life forms.
Species that can not adapt to environmental changes and competition with other living things have become extinct. However, the fossil record stores evidence from many older species. Recent fossils and DNA evidence suggest that all existing species can be traced to the ancestral line of life to the first primitive life forms.
One way to classify plants is based on areas that (depending on research objectives) can also include plant fossils, or the remains of plant life from earlier eras. People in many regions and countries take pride in their own array of plant characteristics, which can vary greatly around the world due to climate and terrain differences.
Regional plants are generally divided into categories such as native flora and agricultural and garden flora, and the latter are deliberately planted and cultivated. Several types of "native flora" have actually been introduced centuries ago by people who migrated from one region or continent to another and become an integral or natural part of the original flora. This is an example of how human interaction with nature can blur the boundaries of what is considered a part of nature.
Earth has evolved through geological and biological processes by leaving traces of the original condition. The outer surface is divided into several tectonic plates that migrate gradually. The interior remains active, with a thick layer of plastic mantle and a full iron core that produces a magnetic field.
Life has altered the state of the Earth's atmosphere, [8] which creates an ecological balance that stabilizes surface conditions. Although there are regional climate variations due to latitude and other geographic factors, the long-term global climate is fairly stable during the interglacial period, [9] and variations of one or two degrees of average global temperatures have historically had a profound effect on ecological balance, and on the actual conditions of Earth's geography.
Since the Cambrian explosion there have been at least five mass extinctions. [18] The last mass extinction occurred about 65 million years ago, when a meteorite crash might trigger the extinction of non-avian dinosaurs and other large reptiles, but not destroy small animals like mammals, which then resemble a shrew. Over the past 65 million years, the life of mammals has diversified. [19]
Several million years ago, a species of small African ape managed to gain the ability to stand upright. Then came the human life and the further development of agriculture and civilization enabled humans to influence the Earth more quickly than previous forms of life. Civilization has influenced the nature and quantity of other organisms and influences the global climate. In comparison, the Great Oxygenation Event, generated by the spread of algae during the Sideria period, requires about 300 million years to reach its peak.
determined in part by continents, various islands, and other criteria: this division is (ordered by size) the Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, Indian Ocean, the Southern Ocean and the Arctic Ocean. Smaller areas of the ocean are called seas, coves, and other names. There is also a salt lake, which is a smaller collection of terrestrial salt water that is not interconnected with the World Ocean.
