Hello people!
Today I want to share my personal encounter.
Couple of weeks ago, I actually applied for a role - part-time trainer to train children public speaking. It’s for a company that educates children on public speaking, salesmanship & entrepreneurship. These are what I truly believe in and will want my future kids to go for hence I am extremely passionate about it.
I went for the interview at the franchisee outlet and scored it.
To my dismay, I was not chosen. I was pretty adamant about it and even offered to work for free because I truly believe in their mission. However, I was still rejected because they were skeptical about me working for FREE.
Nevertheless, I didn’t give up. I went ahead and emailed their head office & other competitors. I was surprised that their headquarters’ human resource department actually replied my email and asked me to come down for an interview.
I traveled 1 hour just for the second interview despite knowing that I’ll have to take another hour to reach home. I think it’s really because of this silly passion of mine. Passion really does make one do stupid things.
Right now, the second interview has been done. All I can do is to keep my fingers crossed and hope that I’ll get selected.
Even if I’m not selected, I’ll still be fighting hard. With this silly passion of mine, I hope to emerge on the other side someday!
Hopefully, you guys can find that silly passion of yours & work towards it!
Cheers to Passion!
Thank you for spending time to read this!
Truly appreciate it!

Every failure is a stepping stone for future success even if this door is closed, as long as you don't give up, other doors will open. All the best in your passion to teach young children.
Thank you so much! @fun2learn I have so much to learn from you if i ever get this part time job! hahaha
im going to attempt some sales job soon too, gonna have to learn from you!
I will Be more than happy to share with you some of the methodology I use! :)
Bro you're silly stubborn or should I say you're perseverant?
Joker once said "When you're good at something, never do it for free". If I were to interpret, I think it may be not so bad in terms of you getting to do the thing you love. However, don't sell yourself short :)
The one thing I could think of why they rejected you is the way you talk/present may be too serious to children? Don't punch me bro.
I believe the second interview they've seen your sincerity though! Keep fighting and stay hungry bruh
Bro you hit the right spot man!
I think it’s because when I’m passionate, I will sound too serious and it’s hard to bring my content/experiences to a kid’s level.
Nevertheless I really want them to groom me that’s why I was willing to work for free.
And through teaching kids, slowly I’ll improve and give talks to older crowd.
That’s my objective.
@darrylnyk That's my boi. Know your target audience and adapt adequate tone of your voice and appropriate gesture aka body language :)
Again, be the original you, that's what I like about you in the first place
I'd wish they reconsider their decision but I will not wish you good luck. There's no hard luck but hard work :)
