#ulog (5) Psoriatic Arthrits and me

in #ulog7 years ago

Ok, so I have this thing called Psoriatic Arthritis, I have been told by the Dr's that its a rare genetic disorder! I was diagnosed when I was 20, I am now 47 and still chuckin' on. I haven't been able to work for the last 15 years or so. I am as mobile as I am today due to the effectiveness of the different medications I was on over the years, the biologics being the most effective. Humira was the last one that I was on and stopped taking the injections when they stopped working. That was around 2007. One of the side affects of the injections was new or worsening heart disease. I had a heart attack around 5 years ago and that just takes all the injections off the table for me. For now, I am just treating the symptoms with pain meds. I have been taking percocet fur just around 5 years as well. A new pain treatment is the drug that is used to treat heroin addiction, after some research and talking with folks on it, i think I am going to give it a shot. My current Dr. thinks that the suboxone patch and Cannabis will work better for pain. I have recently tried the suboxone that dissolves under the tongue and it helped with the pain, i was surprised to say the least. So we will have to wait and see in a few weeks if it works on the long haul
