So, this is just a little Ulog to let you know 3 exciting things about my Friday… (exciting? Well… ya know… they’re things… whether they’re exciting or not… hmmm…)
I am writing this blog post under the influence of 3 very strong Pina Coladas! There was a cocktail evening happening in one of the cafes in our town, and we’d already planned to go along… but today threw some exciting things at us that meant we were celebrating. After presenting my post last night on Pimp Your Post Thursday (if you haven’t tried it out yet, you really should- amazing bunch of lovely people), I fell into bed last night at 1.30am, exhausted, but so grateful for the amazing support of everyone there. The post I presented was this one about my other half’s book being published. Anyhow, this morning, I was danced around the kitchen by a very excited Jules- because over night his book had broken into the top 100 overall kindle chart on Amazon UK! It’s such a massive breakthrough for his debut to reach this far. Then, when I got to work, I had a quick check-in on my phone, and lo! He now had an orange bestseller flag- he’d reached number one in one of his sub-categories! He’s officially a number 1 Amazon best seller. What a way to end the week!!!
Yep- there’s more. I go far too hot at work today. The sun has been relentless here in the UK this week. It is very lovely, but I work in an office that resembles a greenhouse… and was starting to feel a little poorly with it... when I realised my colleague had a large empty plastic trug-bucket with her, left over from some event. I borrowed it, filled it with water, rolled my smart work trousers up and TA-DA – my very own under-desk paddling pool! I was happy as larry for the rest of the day, typing away to my heart’s content with my feet in soothing cold water.
These straws. I’m sorry. I told you I’d had a drink or 3… and they came with these straws. And frankly, they make me very happy!
I promise to be back tomorrow with something that is a little more… sober?
Happy weekend my friends,
Love Eveningart x
What great news about the book! I had to rush over and buy it too. Yay, now I have some (non Steemit) weekend reading. I've read the first two paragraphs and want to beat Violet's family with a stick ;-)
Thanks so much - I really hope you enjoy it. It's a quirky read that comes together a bit like a massive jigsaw puzzle. Can't wait to hear what you think of it... and I know what you mean about Violet's family - I was grinding my teeth at them!
As it turned out, I've spent most of the weekend working :-(
But am looking forward to making the time to delve into it.
Ah - happens to the best of us! It's a quick read once you get going :)
Have a lovely day, E x
You are fun. :) And I would be stoked about those straws too. Haha.
Ah thanks! :)
I know- I completely fell in love with them !!
