Ulog#37 Opening of Buyong High School

Good day Steemians. It was June 3 this year when all public schools in the Philippines from kindergarten to senior high school started the school year 2019-2020. This can be a school year of more struggles when I am one of the six teachers designated to the extension school of Mactan National High School, the newly-opened Buyong High School for grade 7 only this year.

NO CHILD IS LEFT BEHIND

This is the line of the city mayor Paz Radaza in our city of Lapu-lapu everytime she attends a gathering with the Department of Education.

On the first day of the Brigada Eskwela, again she uttered the same line when she climbed up the stage for a short program in the opening of Buyong High School, Maribago, Lapu-lapu City.

This is the cutting of ribbon by the city mayor attended by the Department of Education superintendent and supervisors, barangay officials, our principal of Mactan National High School which is the mother school of this extension school opened just for Grade 7 this year. The principal of Buyong Elementary School and teachers also witnessed the remarkable event. The four classrooms for the new high school are just borrowed from the elementary building.

Two months down now for the school year, the expected endeavors make us experience a lot of struggles when only teachers are deployed of having no budget release yet for the school funds. We don't even have text books to use, most importantly the internet connection where most school reports are uploaded to specific DepEd links for for the access of everybody's monitoring for higher management of the department. Being assigned as ICT coordinator, personal resource is utilized to comply the submission of most school reports on time.

INTRAMURALS WITH NO BALL GAMES

These are the pictures of our Grade 7 students during our Intramurals last week when we didn't have any sporting materials and equipment. Instead we just played Obstacle Race, Sack Race, Maria Went to Town and Train Ride.

Whatever endeavors, dedicated teachers won't give up, we have our passion to educate these poor adolescents who enrolled for the reason that they can't even afford for the transportation to travel to established public high schools. We hand in hand resist whatever difficulties with them so that no child is left behind.
