RE: Stuck at the Airport for 10 Hours Learned It Wasn't a Big Deal ULOG #3

in #ulog7 years ago (edited)

I believe that everything happens for a reason and it is up to each and every one of us to discern or learn from every situation.

I know, it sounds easy to say and many have said the same.

Years ago, I was supposed to get on a ship - all booked and paid for by my uncle (I was just a kid). On departure day, my uncle took me and my brother to the dock, was turned away - we were refused to board. He was furious at the office ... days later, we found out that the ship sank being top heavy ...
Years later in life, I have a few times that I was delayed in traffic by "crazy" drivers only to find out that I avoided a serious traffic accident by just a few hundred yards ...

As for delays in flight, which happened a lot these days -

wouldn't you rather the maintenance crew or the air traffic controllers be overly cautious than to take unnecessary chances?

As for compensation, you'll always get what you paid for - in the long-term. It's not within the authorities of gate agents - if they can, they will, just to not anger the customers. I'll always be overly nice with gate agents because complaints should go to management.

I know this is probably too long ...

Finally, I think that people you meet in these unusual circumstances might sometimes be "angels" who will share their wisdom - the veteran and the dog - yes, the dog - if you paid attention.

I am glad that you returned home safely. You'll not know what could have happened IF you were not delayed. Perhaps, someday you will.

Have a great day sir!

Was not too long and yes all is very true we never know how we might have been saved.
