In this comment I will answer every scenario you came up with about why I might not like Chick-Fil-A.
- You have a bad experience?
Actually, sort of. I think there was a little bit of high expectation on my part based on how much my older son raves about it. So too high expectations was the problem, along with not being able to make up our minds as to what to eat. This was in the food court of a mall and the Chick-Fil-A order line was insane. That didn't help.
However, I do have to say I've been mighty impressed with the personnel the one or two times I ordered in a drive-thru. Very professional. A step above the rest.
- Just weren't that impressed?
Maybe I haven't eaten the right sandwich yet, but no. Not really.
- Don't like chicken?
I do like chicken. I eat quite a bit of it on a fairly regular basis. In many forms. Not so much in sandwiches, though, which maybe is the problem.
If I had to choose between a steak and a chicken sandwich, steak wins. Burgers win most of the time, but not all. Burritos and tacos will probably win out, too. Some of those have chicken in them, though.
- Don't like how they do chicken?
I think they do chicken pretty well. I just not thrilled with the sandwiches I've eaten. It's not the bread. It might be the sauce. Not even sure what it is. It's been a while since I had one.
- Don't want to eat chicken if you weren't able to see where it was raised and subsequently killed?
I'm afraid I have no idea where any of the chicken I eat lived or was processed. I've never felt the need to personally sponsor a chicken or get to know it before eating it, either. I think it's probably best that way.
- Prefer to cook it yourself?
Nope. In general, I don't prefer to cook anything myself. Chicken in particular, because it takes longer and can cause more issues than beef if it's under cooked. Plus, aside from grilling it, I've not had a whole lot of experiencing cooking chicken in any form.
- Prefer to have your wife cook it herself?
Well, this goes without saying. However, she's working and not always around to cook. So, I wouldn't mind Chick-Fil-A or some other food establishment cooking for me, either. Chicken or anything else.
- You just don't like the name?
Nah. It's cool. I mean, the cow's can't spell very well, but hey, they're cows. I get it.
- You're mad they're closed on Sunday because you own shares in the company and want to get more profit from them being open another day per week?
I wish I owned shares, but sadly, I don't.
Actually being closed on Sunday is one of the reasons to like them. I like the idea that anyone has some kind of faith based convictions and then acts on them. I bet they're not suffering one bit for being closed on Sundays.
- You think they should also be open on not-yet-created-day called Glensday which would actually be the eighth day per week?
This is a tough one. I don't know if we need eight days in a week. The Beatles did sing about it, though, so maybe its time has come. At any rate, I think Glensday is so close to Wednesday, we could just rename it and not upset the Roman or the Grecian or whatever calendar. I would probably get tired of hearing it after a while, though.
- You are afraid of chickens because of the impending #ChickenFrogalypse?
This should go without saying. Anyone in their right mind should be. There's only so much chicken I can eat. Everyone needs to step up their game if we're going to avoid this crisis.
- You owe money to a man who once owned a chicken restaurant, but he was a jerk...
Well, sir, I hope you kept a hold of that George Washington because the answer is:
Nope. I don't borrow money from owners of chicken restaurants, or any other food establishments. I might borrow from a bank, a neighbor, a family member, or someone of that nature, but the owners of chicken restaurants? Never. Well, never say never, but there would have to be a pretty compelling reason to do it.
Okay. That's that. Afraid it's not very humorous. Kind of tired and most of the questions seemed legitimate anyway, but hopefully, I answered your questions to your satisfaction. This has gotten to be the biggest three comments in a row ever.
Okay, maybe not. But they're close. :)
