It has been two weeks since I have not posted something and I miss Steemit. Because of my hectic schedule and sleep deprivation for so many days have not been good to me I have realized to get back at some things that I miss, sleep, going out a little and going back to Steemit. I am back!
Today at school we had some activities again and one of the activities for our students was a puzzle game. Well for us it is actually an easy puzzle game but for our students it is really a challenge for them. So today we gave them few pieces of some puzzles because we knew that they would feel difficult. When it comes to caring and teaching students or adults with learning disabilities, it is important to provide and show them activities which can help them, to have further development and learning.
Teachers decided to have another activity because we want students to be active and to let them develop or support their social and communication skills. We gave each of them a puzzle and with that puzzle it has only 6 pieces of puzzle to connect, sometimes we guide them if they struggle connecting thise pieces but this time we let them do on their own.
One puzzle board has a picture of a pupil sitting on a chair and the other one has a picture of a bag and a lunch box. They could actually connect or put pieces together in order to arrive at the correct solution of the puzzle, they would learn problem solving on it.
It would take them time to put the pieces together but it is not only an exercise in their minds but also a challenge of their thinking. Problem-solving skills may develop and some other skills by conpleting the puzzle. It is a way of achieving a set goal. It can assist the students to understand the following step by step directions too that is why even though it takes long, we always give time to students with these kinds of activities. Had fun with them and always will be in our class.
