Hi everyone!
Yesterday after office hours, we took time out from being adults and went back to being little children again even for a while as we celebrated our 23rd anniversary as a Rotary Club. Guess where? No less than the favorite place of every child called ‘Jollibee.’
Before I go on talking about our celebration, please allow me to give you a brief background of what Rotary is about.
Rotary International is a global organisation which is made up of more than 33,000 Rotary clubs in over 200 countries and geographical areas. The members of this autonomous clubs are called Rotarians, and they form a global network of 1.2 million business and professional leaders, all volunteering their time and talents to serve their communities and the world.
SERVICE ABOVE SELF is our organisation’s motto!
Among its areas of focus are the following:
- Polio eradication
- Clean water provision
- Environmental issues
- Good health (mother & child)
- Education through scholarships
- World Peace
This year, we are challenged to be an inspiration in making this world a better place through Rotary.
Going back to our Anniversary celebration. While anniversaries are usually celebrated the formal way with all the grandiosity and extravagance of every detail, this time however, we decided to deviate from the usual and make our celebration like no other - simple and memorable. We thought it would be fun to have a Jollibee party and come in ‘Hello Kitty’ attire.
And we had great fun laughing and screaming as we cheered during the games.
A relay of transferring the balls through plastic gutters down to the pail.
Shooting the rings to a tiny pin court.
Just two games that kept us jumping on our feet with great joy.
Then we had a simple chicken spaghetti meal to keep us full and energised.
It was truly a simple but fun-filled celebration that we will forever cherish- the beauty of being a child again.
Thank you for your time, my friend. To God be all the glory and honor!
😊JOY AND PEACE TO EVERYONE!
