#Ulog 001 - Building Fences (literally!)

in #ulog6 years ago

My first ULOG!

I wanted to say something witty about thinking hard about what to 'post' on Steemit however instead I came up with a fence (post)- See what I did there!

I recently bought and moved into a new house. I love my house however I'm sure like a anyone who has moved home will know that you want to put your own mark on it.

To be honest there is not a huge amount that NEEDS doing - more I would LIKE to do. I am also trying to watch the pennies and not get too carried away doing renovations and titivations just for the sake of my own taste.

One thing that annoyed me, however, every time I pulled into the driveway was the fence.

The fence has been there for about 15 years, is faded to grey and falling apart. My house has limited curb appeal as it is - but the fence makes it look a bit sad and unloved.

My 'other half' Neil and I had to drive to a nearby town where we had left the car (we have gone out to dinner for his mum's 75th birthday). I casually said " perhaps we could go and look at fence panels whilst we are there".

I am a bit notorious for saying that 'little' jobs 'won't take long'!

Voila, this resulted in 6 new fence panels purchased and within 1 hour a brand new fence was erected! It was so satisfying.

Ta da!

It might not look like much to you but to me it is a sense of relief every time I arrive home :)

Until next time

Our fences get blown over in the winter sometimes, its not so bad if you have concrete dividers or bits of wall like you do. Less to replace when you need to do it.

I think that this fence will be relatively sheltered so hopefully it will last another 15 years!

We had much of our fencing replaced followed get the Beast from the East. Such a sense of satisfaction.

Nice job guys! I think anything which can give you that huge satisfaction every day has to be worth it. No "positive procrastination " on this one then?! E x

I love that, "...that 'little' jobs 'won't take long!" How many times have said that so many times to hear a moan from Scott because he knows it will turn into a three-month project. I do love how much better it looks and I just love the red garage door!
