I have many regrets about my decisions; but to spend my life with you was the proudest decision of my life.
December 15, 2012 around 9:45 PM at PhilSports Complex formerly Ultra Sports Center in the middle of almost 10,000+ attendee, all are Maersk Employee. I took the very challenging part of every man's life, and that is to make a wedding proposal to their partner.
THIS IS HOW IT WORKS
Mid September 2012, I am on duty and thinking of something sweet that I could give to my girl friend. My team is talking about wedding proposal that time and some of my coworker (girl) is taunting me to propose to @lalasison and I was like, frozen because I feel nervous when I imagine that I am doing that very challenging thing.
They keep on encouraging me to do it and they said, it is just a once in a lifetime experience and for woman it is very memorable and it can give confidence or let say value to them when a man bring them into that kind of moment. I keep on praying for that and gaining some confidence to do that. After almost 2 weeks, I decided to give a go for it.
I contacted our HR and share to them my request, I ask for a 15 minutes of the program, because in the event like this every minute is very important it will cost them something. They replied to my email and telling their support to my idea and to cut it short, they give me around 5 minutes of the program.
It is very intense moment, as the program flows I am thinking for a plan on how can I escape lala's attention because we're sitting together. My friends we're around us and it seems that we are talking to each other through our eyes, until finally we had an idea. I said to lala that I will go to comfort room (it is almost 5 minutes before my turn). I went to comfort room and hiding from lala's sight and finally I reach the left side of the stage where the MC and crew are preparing for my turn.
HOW ARE WE GOING TO BRING LALA INTO THE STAGE?
This is the idea, during our Christmas party all of us has a unique ticket with unique number. Because we have a raffle that day, I secretly get lala's raffle number and that would be the tool for us to bring lala into the stage. I said to them, as if there will be another "Major Prize" to be given away (they didn't say the prize). The drum is rolling and one by one the MC is calling the number until the MC announce the complete number and lala into her surprise she is shouting in our seat that " I won, I won, that is my number".
People are clapping, woooah, woooow congrats (though they don't even know the prize). The MC called lala and that is the start of the surprise, and you can see the completion of the story in this video.
WHAT I LEARN AFTER THIS?
1 . I learn how to be a man. Yes, naturally we're created as a boy and without bias, there are lot of people who wants to stay as a boy but few people are desiring to become a "man". Don't get me wrong, we all have flaws, but for me (this is just my opinion and all of us have our own opinion) bring our earthly relationship to the next level is a sign of being a man. We knew each other for almost 6 years as classmates, and I decided to bring it to the next level by engaging myself to her.
2 . It is a memorable experience to a woman, I believe most of woman are dreaming to experience to be in this very kind of situation, they are looking that one day there is a "MAN" who'll let them feel that they are important and they are one of a kind.
3 . This proposal is already part of our history, what if I didn't push through it? May be that would be my lifetime regret. Why? Because it is just a once in a life time experience.
Those are the things that I realized, before, during and after that proposal. 6 years after, I cannot help myself but to smile every time I watch this video. I telling to myself, I did it. Did I really do that? Thank God.
