#ULOG S2018E056: Carbon Market Day

#Ulog is such a brilliant idea! It is an answer to all our content struggles. Anyone who'd say that there's nothing extra special with their day is actually telling a lie! Here's my ULOG entry for today!

#ULOG S2018E056: Carbon Market Day

Back in Bohol, I remember growing up and every Sunday, my parents would go to the local market, I oftentimes would go with them if I wake up early but there are times when I feel lazy and would regret not coming because they'd often go to an eatery and have their morning "Pamainit" with hot chocolate and sweet sticky rice topped with sugar.

I had those thoughts while walking around Carbon Market yesterday together with James.

James was out for an errand to Carbon and since its been awhile since I had gone shopping in Carbon Market, I decided to join him to his delight.I also don't want him to go out alone in that part of Cebu though.

Anyway, after being done with his errand, we went straight to Carbon Market. This is a spot in the city where most farmers and middle men bring their farm produce and sell.

image

Most of the fruits and vegetables here are sold at a very low price. Like those Cucumber above, that shows Php 16 per kilo only!

image

These local tomatoes were sold at Php 50 per kilo! If I have not bought my tomatoes earlier, I'd probably go buy some here.

image

Bananas however were sold at Php40. I know some mobile vendors sell them at Php 30-35 so I have no idea why its five pesos more expensive here.

image

I need a lot of calamansi. Every meal, we have to have sauce and it tastes way better with Calamansi and chili! Plus that's what I also use for my salad dressing!

image

Avocados are in season, there were lots of avocados sold, most of them were already turning red and ripe! I wish we can store avocados for a long time!

image

Apples, grapes, lemons and oranges are also sold by these vendors. They got carts which they can move anywhere. The apples were at Php 10 only!

image

More apples!

image

You know that you are in Carbon Market when you smell dried fish! The stinky smell sticks to the clothing of whoever comes near it!

But of course, Filipinos specifically cebuanos love dried fish specially danggit and squids!

image

This was actually my main reason why I want to go to Carbon Market - yellow and ripe mangoes! They were priced at Php 85 per kilo. But aside from the ripe ones, I also bought the green Indian mangoes.

image

There were priced at PHp 5 each for the big ones while if you buy in bulk, the vendor will give you discounts. I believe the small ones costs PHP 2 or 3 pesos only.

image

Jackfruit is another favorite, I love halo-halo with strips of jackfruit too! The only problem is the sticky sap.

image

It was time to go home, but I still had snapped a few more photos while on the way back to our motorcycle. I was really thankful that the sun was not fully out even if it was noontime.

Vendors selling Marang.

Someone cooking Bibingka right in the middle of the road! Why not?

Coconuts for sale

image

Of course ready to eat food too!

image

And of course ice cream! Dirty ice cream!

Thanks for reading! I bet you also have a place like Carbon Market near you if you are living in the Philipppines. How's the market price lately?

God bless!
