Hello steemians, how are you all doing today, hope everyone is doing well.Today i will talking about respecting our parents and how i respect and obey my parents as well.
In Ephesians 6, the bible says:
Children, 0bey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise: that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.”
From the above bible verse, we see the biblical gain of obeying our parents: for our days to be long and so it might be well with us.
Now, does it mean that if we don't obey our parents that it would not be well with us? Does it mean that if we don't obey our parents that we would die young?
The answer to the above question is NO.
Even natural law, tells that we should respect our elders and our parents are our elders as well.
Even when we don't obey our parents, we might suffer it later at old age or thereafter. They would be strict and hard on us and punish us as well thereby fulfilling what the bible said.
And when we don't respect our parents, reciprocally, our own children would Not respect us.
So i urge all and sundry to imbibe this biblical injunction to respect and obey our beloved and hardworking parents so that our days here on earth might be long and blessed
