My First Missions Experience

in #ulog7 years ago

What's the time? Frank tell me the time. I don't want to be late… Bye!!!....

Hello Ulog, this is my first Ulog post and today I'll be posting about what happened earlier today. TheThe paragraph in bold describes my morning rush to catch my other classmates who would be going on the missions trip.

We left our pick up point with different versions of a remand home painted in our hearts neither of us had ever been to one before then. Fear, condemnation was however a common factor in our hearts.

I believed those in the remand home where young criminals who could pounce on me if I stared too long.

Well the gates opened and my eyes were opened. I that was in the past meeting them has changed my perspective about them. I realised that the kids there were more victims than any horrible thing we had thought about them. Listening to their stories was really heart touching. At that moment a child rights activist was born in me.

I no longer view them as bone-breaking young criminals but as young children who are desperately in need of love.

We talked to them and brought some foodstuffs to support the home. Now I feel like I have to do more to help.

Below are some pictures of the Missions.
P.S: We were not allowed to take pictures in the home.
