Where I live in the US Summer last about three months out of the year. When Summer finally does come to pay a visit it is time to make sure you get out of the house and enjoy all the beautiful green leaves, grass and plants. Oh and don't forget the best part. Fresh air!
Below is a bit of what it is like to live in a place that truly has all four seasons.
June~ Fresh cut grass, green everywhere, flowers blooming, people walking, people happy. Chatting with your neighbors you have not seen in six months, fires at night, drinking outside, windows open, rain to make things grow.
July~ OMGosh it is so hot. Turn the air conditioner on. I'm dying from the heat and humidity. I can not take any more clothes off.
How do people live like this?
We need rain. The grass is turning brown. Oh, what a beautiful Summer day! Oh, a tornado? We need rain but really? A tornado!
August~ I. CAN. NOT. TAKE. THE. HEAT. ANY. MORE!
September~ HOT. COLD. RAIN. HOT. COLD. RAIN.
October~ The smell of Autumn in the air. Leaves turning beautiful shades of yellow, orange, red and every shade thereof. Pumpkins, squash and the last of the fresh vegetables. Cooler air, sweatshirts on. Happy.
November~ Cold, warm, wind, rain, snow, new boots, new mittens, cold, warm, rain, snow, wind.
December~ Cold, snow, wind, rain, ice, cold, snow, wind, rain, ice, Christmas.
January ~ I. WILL. NEVER. BE. WARM. AGAIN.
I will never see green grass nor flowers outside my windows. Everything is dead, never return to life again. Did I mention I will never be warm again? Where is the sun?
Feburary~ Oh Yeah! It's my Birthday! I really hope I get more warm clothes and slippers for birthday presents.
OMGosh, I will never be warm again. Oh, look a day with sunshine! Oh wait, the wind is finding every crack in the house.
I am so tired of wearing the same Winter jacket, hat, gloves, scarf, boots just to walk out the door to take the garbage can back to the garage.
March~ Oh look more cold and extra wind! I have now lost one of my mittens but I can not buy mittens anymore because the store only carries Spring clothes now. I guess my one hand will just freeze for the next 2 months.
OMGosh one day of 70F weather. Where are my shorts? What? my shorts don't fit? OMG I need to go on a diet before Summer gets here. Maybe I should shave my legs too?
April~ Rain, cold, snow, ice, sun, rain, mud, cold, ice, sun, wind, storms, mud, bad storms, snow, rain, cold, ice........Wait! Is the grass growing? Is that GREEN I see? Oh, The smell of Spring!!
May~ Mud, rain, sun, storms, green grass, new flowers, windows open, fresh air, smiles, laughter, fires at night, rain, cold. Sorry, we were just teasing you on the weather getting warmer.
I know each place in the world has its own yearly weather patterns. Each place offering a unique experience in which to live your days. As bad as the above sounds and sometimes is, I would not want to live in any other place in the world.
I love going through the change of seasons.
The bitter cold makes you look forward to Spring like nothing else could. Summer becomes the time where you try and be outside as much as you can. Take in as much of the green beauty that surrounds you as you can.
The extreme heat, for us, makes you look forward to Autumn and the cooler weather knowing just around the corner you will have snow and the beauty that that brings.
There is nothing more peaceful than walking in a snowstorm with big huge flakes coming down at night when most of the world is sleeping and the only tracks you see in the snow are yours. It's magical.

You pretty much summed up the UK for me as well, although we don't tend to get many real hot days - except for this year which has been exceptional.
I think it would be boring without clearly defined seasons, the variety makes life far more interesting.

We lived in Wichita when I was little. Saw a tornado rip the roof off of a nearby hospital once. Walked home in 100 mph wind in 3rd grade once. Never again. I'll stay as far from natural disasters as possible, thank you very much. :P
I agree with you!! My Mom worked and we would get home from school and I swear there was always a tornado warning in the 2 hours we were home alone. The lovely weird green color the sky turns before a very bad storm is always so much fun?
