Hey! What's up?
I'd like to make up for my ten-day absence from blogging by doing a walkthrough of my personal highlights so far on Steemit from Post #1 to Post #100. This was something I wanted to write about for a very long time now, but struggled to find the time and the right words to do so. Now that this milestone coincided with something important unfolding in my life right now, I just couldn't keep it to myself any longer (I'll do a separate blog entry about it within the next few days). It occurred to me that I wanted to make this post much longer than my earlier ones. Without further ado, let me get this thing started.
https://steemit.com/poetry/@virtualself/first-post-ever
This was my first ever post on Steemit! I was still a lot more arts-oriented with my posts during this early stage of my Steemit career. It certainly is fulfilling to realize this evolution of my approach in blogging. Also, this was memorable for me because this resulted in my first payout, which amounts to $3. "At long last," I said to myself, when I claimed my rewards, feeling grateful for this newfound and God-given opportunity to earn actual money.
Highest Payout/Most Upvotes

Nothing assures me of people seeing my post better than an upvote, so when I got 41 of them on this particular blog entry, I was really thankful. I was even fortunate enough to be featured on the 100th edition of Steemitfamilyph's Featured Posts! https://steemit.com/steemitfamilyph/@steemitfamilyph/daily-steemit-family-ph-featured-posts-100 The best part is that I earned a combined $3.12 from it, which is still a personal record of mine so far. The only thing that could've made this post better was if at least one or two people besides @steemitfamilyph left a reply. Hahahahaha XD
First Resteem

I really fancied this short story quite a lot, so much so that it was enough reason for me to reblog it on my wall. Her post was also featured by @steemitfamilyph. https://steemit.com/steemitfamilyph/@steemitfamilyph/daily-steemit-family-ph-featured-posts-98
First Post Using My Native Language
https://steemit.com/poetry/@virtualself/isang-tula-mula-sa-aking-nakaraan
As a Filipino, it was very fulfilling for me to interact with my fellow kabayans on Steemit using my mother tongue for the first time. I was thrilled by the responses of my fellow Filipino Steemit users, written in Tagalog and Taglish. I was also fortunate to be featured once again, this time by @tagalogtrail. https://steemit.com/pilipinas/@tagalogtrail/ika-apatnapu-t-tatlong-edisyon-ng-tagalog-trail
First Entry To A Contest

I tried my luck in this contest by @valiantegg, and even though I didn't win, I was content with his cheerful reply to my simple comment.
Gaining 50 Followers
https://steemit.com/ulog/@virtualself/ulog-3-celebrating-50-followers-on-steemit-w
Even if less than half of these "followers" actually upvote my posts, it's a good feeling to know that at least 50 people decided to press the "follow button," albeit for very different reasons.
Most Upvotes Without Any Replies
https://steemit.com/ulog/@virtualself/ulog-9-of-rain-and-reminiscing
At first, I was happy with this post because it eventually got 38 total upvotes after a slow start. Getting a payout of $0.95 was great and all, but I sure wished that I had written the article in a way that could've evoked at least one or two responses.
Most Popular ULOG
https://steemit.com/ulog/@virtualself/ulog-17-living-without-a-smartphone
Thanks to @surpassinggoogle, the #ulog was born, which has proven itself to be a simple yet powerful medium in showcasing oneself for the Steemit community to see. I am one of the people who have tried and tested the power of the #ulog. This particular one that I made was different, however, because in my attempt to share details of my everyday life, I took upon myself the challenge of doing it without pictures. I can say that it was well-received by those who saw it, all 38 of them to be exact.

I wrote this at a time when I was entering a new chapter of my life. So even if my payout for this post was only $0.12, the thing I value the most from this blog entry was the five kind responses I got, four of them coming from people who know me personally.

Right now, I am currently on a rampage of entering contests left and right, seeking out which ones I will have the most likely chance to succeed in. In this anime challenge by @fycee, I commented about my liking for Samurai Jack. Upon checking on it again one day later, I was overwhelmed by the five replies to it, and the payout that followed (which couldn't have come at a better time, because SBD is currently rising fast, as shown by my comment's increase in pending payout from $0.90 to $1.10 over the span of just two nights!).
So there you have it! Thank you to everyone who had been part of my Steemit journey until now. Huge thanks to @surpassinggoogle for being the largest contributor to my payouts, as well as my fellow members of #unlisteemersph for being a very helpful and supportive bunch. https://steemit.com/steemit/@unlisteemersph/ulog-unlisteemersph-a-growing-community
Thanks for reading! More to come.
Take care!

Yey! yeah it was an evolution. I noticed that too you know; that you were art-oriented at first. So this is your hundreth post, and my next thought was, "where have I been spending my time on?".
We share that yearning for comments. I really don't mind the low upvotes as long as there are comments on it, since what we really want is for someone to talk to in this beloved community. Anyway, God bless on your endeavors and stay awesome!
Thanks! Our least priority of minding low upvotes aside, looks like your most recent post got more than 400 upvotes now! Congratulations for your triumphant return to Steemit after quite a long hiatus. :) :D
Hahaha. XD thanks! I can't believe it either! That video has been sitting in my phone gathering dust the past week. I also could not find any vacancy in any nearby computer shops last night and was considering not posting it at all. I had to wait for an hour just to rent a computer. Thank God it worked out just fine and AWESOME!!!
I liked this walk through of your steemit journey. Like yourself I'm stretching out to the competitions I feel comfortable with. I'm also thinking of trying a dlive stream. Are there many people who show craft / design process with a focus on hands instead of faces?
Hello @virtualself (Jesse)
Oh yeah I must agree your comment have gotten so popular from my first ever contest. I must say you have really good English command with simple sentences used to easily grasped by your readers.
Good job with the compilation of achievements and milestones as a @ulog. It was also my very own first uLog post as well. Congratulations with your evident success here on steemit.
Always remember that soon if you already felt like giving up it is absolutely normal because I do feel this way most of the times. So just push yourself and always make yourself ready to face all these challenges and never give up until you finally found your niche.
Way to go!
Thank you for the kind words! :)
Good journey !
Enjoyed it😇
