It's been a stressful and engaging week. A lot of events and activities have occurred during the week. I was privileged to attend two inaugural lectures at school, one business lecture and five normal academic lectures. I also had the honor of meeting one of the finest steemians on the blockchain for the first time, in the person of @ninoh22. I was pretty much excited to meet him.
myself and @ninoh22
Ninoh is a fine talented superstar, a composed gentleman and a distinguished steemjet delegate. He had come to attend a wedding ceremony of a friend in Western Nigeria and thought it wise to stop by and pay me a visit. This is one of the beautiful things about the Steemit Platform, it keeps drawing you to amazing personalities, who you can share powerful intellectual ideas with. The week actually seem quite fast to me, it's been a couple of days I posted on the platform and I must say, I've actually miss a lot over here. However, I hope to return here fully after my semester exams.
Meanwhile, I'll try as much as possible to keep my blog updated at my spare time. I apologize to my friends and followers who have missed out on reading my contents as I've also missed keeping up with interactions here. My life has been in a repeated circle of stereotyped activities for the past few months. But particularly, one of my memorable moments during the week was attending and listening to Prof. Charles Beribe of Opthamology department, University Of Ibadan speak at the inaugural lecture on the topic, "That The Eyes May See". I was impressed by the disposition of intellectual radiance, composure, humility, simplicity and humor.
He went ahead to share knowledge on some of his research works, on issues bordering on cataract, pterygium, blindness, glaucoma, eye injuries and low vision. Towards the end of his lecture, he said something, I found funny and remarkable.
"...... I just wanted to study medicine and Surgery and return home to Delta state, I did not envisage a lifelong career devoted to studying the eyes in our great institution. But I must say, that it has been very rewarding and although not so much in financial terms, but at least in helping to bring a smile to the face of the blind patient who is suddenly transformed from darkness into light."
A thought-provoking message, that you can find fulfillment in what you do, even though you may not be contented with the profit or financial benefits from it. But as long as you find true happiness in doing it, then that feeling alone is priceless. However, people have different ways of measuring fulfillment with contentment, and this is in a way subjective and relative.
Meanwhile, I got to know about the above event tagged, "The Cheetah Africa Launch" from @lordjames' blog. If you're in Lagos or around it suburbs, do well to attend. It's coming up the week friday, August 3, 2018. I think it would be a promising one.

Hi @joshuaetim, I'm @checky ! While checking the mentions made in this post I noticed that @nino22 doesn't exist on Steem. Did you mean to write @ninoh22 ?
