I already know a number of people from around here that are on Steemit. Many of them are homesteaders which already means we have a lot in common. So I'm throwing the idea out onto the blockchain to see how many people would be interested in meeting up for a weekend this summer. Even if you are not from around here, you are welcome to fly in if you want to participate.
Provide your comments and let's see if we can make this work. If there is enough interest, then we can get into formal plans in another post.

I was so excited for this opportunity until I checked the travel expense and travel time. :-( Why do you live that far away? why? why?
hahaha. I could ask you the same question! I live that far away because this planet is large, yet so very small. She is beautiful beyond belief and we all have found a little patch of heaven upon which to be a Steward of Terra Mater. Because of that, we are confronted with great distances which we have bridged through the use of technology. If we all lived in one spot, it would be impossible to bear. So we went forth and explored!

I am looking into to doing a meetup here in Toronto, if you know anybody in Toronto that I should be talking to here on steemit to make it happen, please let me know. I hope you have a good turnout. Steemit + Real-world Relationships = Great Content can't wait to hear about how it goes.

I would, but flying across canada is wayyy expensive...
I would, but flying from Serbia to Canada is highwayyy expensive.
But, if you get a new, environmentally friendly LED municipal lighting installed over the next year of two, it will be partially thanks to the business plan that I've written for a local innovative Eco-friendly company (a bit bragging can not hurt). Cheers. ^_^
Or we can work on getting a star trek transporter working, that would resolve all kinds of travel issues! Lots of people will be blogging about it. I have no doubt.
Indeed it is. Start walking now and you will get here in time. lol. just kidding obviously. But if you do well with steemit, then a train ride would be the best ecological way to travel. Spectacular journey the train is.
That would be so cool, I've never taken the train! I have fam in bc and see them every couple of summers, so maybe if I don't make it THIS summer you'll do another get together and I'll make it there :)
This is an awesome idea. I have been to Canada before so it isn't too far-fetched for me at all. It just depends on dates for me. I am wanting to travel more and meet people that I feel connected to. If it is later in the summer it will be easier for me to participate. I will for sure keep an eye on this and see where it goes. Thank you! 🌟

This is great idea. @wwf, You always come up with something really good. I wish I could be part of it but I will have to wait until Steemit site comes in top 100 websites because I believe by then STEEM price will be on the moon.

hahaha. July or August was what I was thinking. That way the people who have never experienced snow can attend if they want. They will still need a toque, winter coat and gloves as it only ranges between 20 and 35C here depending on whether we are having a heat wave or a down right scorcher of a summer.
I grew up in New York so I experienced snow...enough that I dont want to experience it again.
I love seeing all the pictures from those who are in it...while I am sitting down here in the tropics.
lol. You must have enjoyed my pictures from yesterday then as we dug out from the storm that dumped over a foot of snow in 24 hours.
Like I mentioned earlier I will make an effort to show up. Hopefully if there is enough interest we can set a date well ahead of time so it is easier for me to plan around it.

Excluding travel too and from airports, im looking at 38hrs 15mins to get there and 43hrs 10mins return at a cost of $2,242.00. - Sorry brother i must regretfully decline at this time - unless i become a steemit millionaire by then :)

I think there is traction for the idea. I will start the ball rolling soon. I will be holding a steemit training class very soon. That might interest people too and be a good way to meet up with people as well. Train in the morning, visit all afternoon!
