I agree with most of what you said, but where we differ is your view that the herd has the right to counter violence with any means necessary even up to deadly force. That is, in itself, violent.

Consider this: If you and I had a confrontation and you decided to punch me, your intent is to do harm. That is violent. If I block your punch, I end up deflecting your punch with the intent of self-defense. The violence is still yours. However, if I counter that block with a punch of my own, my intent changes from self-defense to harm as now my intent is to put you down so that you don't get back up. I've crossed the line from self-defense to being violent. Deadly force is no different. I'm not going to sacrifice the spiritual rewards that I've worked so hard to acquire by killing somebody else. That violates spiritual values and protocols, even though physically it has been justified and even 'legalized' for many generations.
