When I was a young boy, I used to admire the United Nations organization. I would read about its accomplishments and about its agencies. One of my dad's close friend works for the WHO and I used to visit his office and gather all the information and brochures about the organization. I would then enter essay writing competitions and I often write about the UN, as my topic. I won so many school supplies, books and dictionaries for that. Then, as I grow older and wiser, I became friends with not just people who work for the organization, but also envoys and ambassadors. I have learned so much from them, that I started realizing that this organization is so much more like "The Firm", in the movies and in real life.
From its original objectives and goals of creating and establishing a "better world", it has become puppets of rich countries. Its main branch and all its agencies are now being dictated by countries, multi-nationals corporations and private individuals, pushing for their own agenda in this world.
The latest issuances from the UN agencies like the UNESCO where it say that Israel has no legitimate or historical claim to Jerusalem. Lately, this organization has somehow became anti-Israel.
Agencies' head, commissioners and even the Secretary-General spend so much money in accommodations, cars, jewelleries, clothing and travel that one would ask the question, "where is the money coming from?" Past Secretary-Generals like Kopi Anan only dresses up in US$8500+ Brioni suits.
Most, if not all of their latest issuances are biased and no longer fulfil neutrality and fairness.
Do you think it is time that this puppet organization be dissolved?
