UNIVERSITY of WASHINGTON

We are a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities and we believe in the value of higher education to society and that this value is enhanced by international collaboration. Meet our student bloggers for 2018

From social stories to real student advice, find out what student life is really like at the University as our students' share their different experiences.

We are a research-intensive university and a founding member of the prestigious Russell Group. Our successes are acknowledged in international and UK league table rankings and with prestigious awards.

Our degrees and courses enable you to develop critical thinking and independent learning skills that are essential for future leaders and decision makers. Our lecturers are leaders in their fields and offer you the chance to learn about world-changing research as it happens.

The fact that Southampton is promulgating a multi-disciplinary approach to problem-solving is absolutely in tune with what we in the Commonwealth are seeing is needed.
It’s that mix of talent, that understanding that if we come together – if the anthropologists get together with the physicists and the chemists and the engineers and the sociologists – we’ve got a chance and that’s why I think it’s exciting.
I’m really looking forward to working even more closely with Southampton because Southampton and we are looking at things in a similar way.

The UK’s hosting of the 2018 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting comes at a time when international collaboration is vital in tackling the many global challenges we all face today.

As a leading global university, Southampton enjoys many strong and mutually-beneficial partnerships in many of the Commonwealth’s 53 countries.
