Hi! I was partially unschooled as a child, and I think I received many of the benefits that you'd hope for. My parents homeschooled my brothers and I, and we were given tremendous freedom to guide our own education. Library trips were a cornerstone of the approach - we'd head to the public library as a family, and my mom would just turn us loose to find books that looked interesting. It was brilliant, and I loved it and thrived in it. I suspect it's not for everybody, but in my family it really worked.
