UN(dis)TALENTED: Standing Model Erasing Sketch by @bxlphabet

in #untalented6 years ago

This is one of the first sketches my son did by the erasing technique after covering the paper with charcoal. It shows the most complicated of all of the backgrounds I have seen by far. He must have been working out how to handle this manner of sketching that had him so excited.

I'm impressed by the fine details of the head and perplexed by what seems to be a misplaced front facing arm.

Did the model turn while he was still working? I guess I may never know.

In order for him to go to this place, the supply list called for several jars of loose charcoal. I got him more of this substance after he got home from the camp, but he told me it was too messy unless he was working outdoors or in a studio.

This was a problem we had in trying to get him to progress after camps that he went to. Almost everything he liked to do was impossible in a small apartment.

I hope he is finding a way to work on his art now. When he is creating, his mind is most at peace.
