in #untalented7 years ago

Many people nowadays are engaging in social media, like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Steemit and so on. It is now easy for us to engage in different kind of social interaction like blogging. In fact there is significant increase in number of bloggers since 2016. As per Blogging.org almost 23% of online time is spent on the blog or social media sites, 6.7 Million people blog on blogging sites 12 million people blog via social media networks like facebook post, etc. Hence, it is important to know the things that we should avoid in doing our blog.

I will be honest, I already committed all of the blog mistakes, that is why I love to share these things to all of us including myself so that we can offer the world a high quality blog. Remember that we are not into perfection but we are into progression. It is not a one day event that we can post a perfect blog but it could be a better than before post.

Here are the 6 blog mistakes that we possibly commit

1 . MISSPELLINGS AND GRAMMATICAL ERRORS

  • It’s tough for folks to believe you’re an industry leader who really knows his or her stuff if your blog posts are filled with all kinds of misspellings and grammatical mistakes. It is a very common mistake that blogger always commit.

HELPFUL TIP: Have several people proof the post before it’s published.

2 . SENSELESS CONTENT

  • Although blogs can be somewhat laid back and casual in tone, that doesn’t mean they should contain random stream-of-conscious writing that really has no point. Make your point aligned to the title and to the topic of your blog.

HELPFUL TIP: Treat your blog posts like mini-articles, basing them on a solid outline.

3 . POOR AND BORING TITLE

  • Even if it’s grammatically correct and contains no misspelled words, your title can still stink if it doesn’t make people want to read it. You can't get them to read your content without that initial click. Make your title catchy and connected to your readers.

HELPFUL TIP: Use enticing titles they simply can’t resist, short and to the point.

4 . NO INTERNAL LINKS

  • Each blog post gives you multiple opportunities to get readers interested in different areas of your website through internal links. Link to other blog posts you’ve written that relate to the topic. Put some links in your blog so that your reader will have a whole picture of what you are offering to them.

HELPFUL TIP: Link to products relevant to a solution you’re discussing.

5 . LOTS OF EXTERNAL LINKS

  • One of the main aims of a blog is to drive traffic to your site. If you add a gazillion links to outside sources, you’re pretty much doing the exact opposite. Minimize to a few credible external links. Anything excess are not useful at all so try to minimize using lots of links inside of your blog.

HELPFUL TIP: Avoid non-credible sources that won't do you any good.

6 . NO SOCIAL MEDIA SHARING ICONS

  • You also want to make it as easy as possible for readers to share the amazing blog they just read with the rest of the world. Content management systems easily adds sharing icons to your blog.
