@surpassinggoogle's Untalented Contest: Who Am I?

in #untalented7 years ago (edited)

It's one of Steemit's most valuable contest of all time and here's my entry.

untalented.png

I am Jotmax and I am typical winner. Although untalented, I strive to overcome my woes by trashing them out one after the other.

Unlike many Steemians who were able to write long articles, I am faced with a BIG BLOCK.

Apparently, jumping in this contest for me is not as easy as it seems but I'll try to give my best.

Okay! I'm getting over it... Time to share

Computer Geek or Not

I love computers and the love has turned into a job. I repair computers part time. This is because I have a teaching job which I plan to quit next June to focus on my PC job.
Don't be fooled! I'm that guy that takes your laptop and watches a Youtube video because he hasn't repaired that type of PC.
In the end, you thank me for doing a good job when all I did was do a good job following Youtube tutorials...

Seller

Although I have no sales background, I am the number 1 neighborhood salesman who considers himself just lucky to get buyers on OLX. Hehehe... I have a funny way of listing items there though. I'll call it my little trade secret.

People in my neighborhood trust me to get things sold at a reasonable price. Recently, I sold a used PS4. It took a week to get a buyer. People are broke. I listed it for #70000 and sold it for #60000.

Go-Getter

I'm not sure where I picked this quality from but I'm assertively enterprising. Although a primary school teacher, I run a computer sales and repair business. I also have an online store on Konga where I sell computer gadgets. I am also working on starting a T-Shirt line where I'll sell Nigerian branded T-Shirts on Konga and Jumia. Funny enough, I'm going to source the T-Shirts today in Lagos Island.

I be one kind hustler ehn (I'm one type of hustler)... Hehehehe. That's pidgin English. It's a creole language spoken as a lingua franca across Nigeria. My pidgin is bad.

Hustle must pay.

Why I'm a Primary School Teacher

Although a graduate of Biochemistry with a second class upper degree, I see it as a point of duty to give back little of the good education I got to little children. My parents sent me to the best of the bests hence I feel the need to give a little to children. Hence, I'm in the last lap of the 3-year task.

Overtime, I've come to appreciate teachers as teaching is not an easy task. The maximum pay of an average Nigerian teacher is #40,000. That's about $112 per month. Quite small for the job.

Aspiration

As a young Nigerian, I've got dreams and aspirations to make Nigeria a better place for the poor in my community. It's sickening to see the poor suffer without any form of remedy.

I've been nurturing this dream for a while. I was reminded of it on Tuesday when an old man came to me to help him write a letter to the Local Government.

He was a poor man who barely raised $25 per month to feed his family. His daughter was getting into SS2, the final class in Government Secondary school.

He was asked to provide his last tax clearance which was rejected by the Local Government Office.

I helped him write and his daughter was attended to.

Things work differently in Nigeria so tax payment is a bit complicated. The tax officers do not tax you based on calculation. They tax based on estimation because the State Government gives each Tax Station a target which must be met. My
So, my plan is to help the poor overcome the oppression from the government and alleviate poverty by providing free education and housing in an organized environment where the next generation is given the same care the children of the rich receive. This way, poverty is gradually sniffed out of their mentality and life.

Yippeee!!! I wrote something...

So @surpassinggoogle said no losers, all winners... Let's see how it goes...

Thanks @surpassinggoogle. I'll share too. I'll be glad to have your response. I'm glad to read from you.

Wow! Hustle must pay, my brother @jotmax. Nigeria is that place you can't just sit at one end expecting all the milks to come from one cow. In my company we haven't worked for some months now, thus no pay, but I have been using Steemit and other businesses to survive. We must survive in this country, bro. Steem on!

Hehehe. Hustle must pay o. Na so we dey do am.
God bless your hustle bro. In a country like Nigeria where things are uncertain, smart work is needed.

Yh bro. 😊. Na so.

seems like you are a versatile person. you have a lots of talent..... i liked reading about you. you get paid 112$ for being a primary teacher, it's my personal opinion that may be a primary teacher should get paid more than a university teacher..... may be i sound like crazy but think about it.... teaching children are harder than teaching mature people, plus a primary teacher is preparing a child to go on with study. i teach a few kids and it's so hard make them understand something......
your plan to help poor people is really great and kind......

You are very correct. Primary teachers are viewed with not so much regard.

Helping the poor reminds me of how much effort I need to put to work. I must achieve it.

Thanks for your sincere comment.

you are welcome.....

Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest!!
