A perfect time to start afresh and cleanse yourself of many past indulgences or bad habits. For example you like to lose weight, quit smoking and build muscle.

Some people say like" promises", New Year Resolution are made to be broken haha. It is because some people give up within the first two months on their new years resolution. I too experienced that and you are not alone, we are many.

Here are some proven strategies that will help you to Succeed.

Don't take on too Much

Don't try to overcompensate for your over indulgences or shortcoming. Start off gradually, keep things simple by making one or two at a time. Choose only one, example, if you like to quit smoking, then you should have to start on gradual withdrawing. Doing this you won't feel too overwhelmed, and you'll be more likely to stick to it. another example, get use to eat vegetables first before eliminating fat and meats in your diet. That way you'll be more likely to succeed.

Set Goal

One of the best ways to to maintain your ardor for exercise and fitness training is to set goal. By testing your boundaries, you can expand you horizon and push yourself further. It is a good reason to examine your goal and stretch beyond your comfort zone.

Turn your Good Intention into Action

Make a commitment , not a wish, Words, thoughts, goals and plan are all important but in the end, you will have to take an action you really want results. You need to put your plan in action. There is a huge difference between intentions and actions, you can bridge the gap by starting this new year.

Focus on the Process and Not the Results

Once you know what you want to achieve, break it into a doable chunks and focus on mini-steps. Most mistake people do are these examples, After lifting a weights in the gym they usually look at the mirror for the result. another one is taking a brisk walk every morning and also weighing every morning after each walk.

It is important to focus on the "process" first and the result will come, focus on the "result" and the process will be frustrating.

Rebound from the Setbacks

Setbacks are part of life, and the reality is that you will face some along the way. But it is how you bounce back from these obstacles that you can make a difference. Learn to anticipate them, expect that it will happen, and prepare for them. Don't give up if you stray from your plans, it is okay to adjust but don't abandon it.

Have a Realistic Expectations.

While you can take important steps to improve your health, you can't look like an athlete if you don't have a time or desire to look like one. You may need to lower your expectations a little. Think about you progress in terms of months not in minutes.

Some expert say that it takes a month to develop a new habit, that makes February to a good time to evaluate some results.

Get a Motivational Support

As part of your lifestyle changes, include you friends and family members to help you along the way and keep you on track. Let them know that you are trying to achieve so they keep you to accountable.

Don't forget to Reward Yourself

Celebrating your achievement is a key ingredient in sticking to your new health plan. Positive reinforcements helps to motivate you and drives you towards achieving your goal. Aim for a reward that further increase your chance of success of improving your health.
Some possible ways you could reward your success include the following:
Massage, weekend vacation, travel, clothing, gadgets or a ticket for a concert or movie.

I hope you like it.

Those are quite good tips to get yourself started! However we are not too keen on "resolutions" though, it's too much of an all-or-nothing game, too rigid and inflexible, so for those who actually want to try something and are tired of failing, why not skip the resolutions altogether and try these New Year's Intentions instead. Happy New Year 2018!
