Julian Assange, the founder of Wikileaks, has been rejected extradition from his work in the United States. Last Wednesday, US officials informed UK courts that if they agreed to extradite Julian Assange on espionage charges, the Wikileaks founder might be sentenced to any US jail in his home country of Australia.

Last Thursday, Assange's attorneys rejected the commitment. His counsel claims that if Assange is extradited to the United States, he will face the same danger of suicide. He may be put in solitary confinement in the Supermax jail, despite guarantees.

A lower court in the United Kingdom rejected a US attempt to extradite Assange for leaking secret US military papers a decade ago in January. The court concluded that Julian Assange, the founder of Wikileaks, could not be extradited to the United States. A London judge has denied Assange's plea to be extradited to the United States, citing his present mental state as a risk of suicide.
