RE: The damage in North Carolina is bad, but I think the news is jumping on this for political reasons

Oh I'm not victim blaming either nor am I going after the people in areas that are out of the floodplains that got blindsided by this. When I was in college, Floyd I think it was wiped out like half of the city of Greenville and martial law was declared, yet that barely made a blip on the news because it wasn't an election year. The only thing I am trying to say is that all the politicians are using this tragedy for personal gain. I don't really think they actually care.

I remember the Floyd devastation, too. Thanks for clarifying for me. I agree politicians are vultures who see human tragedy as opportunities. Remember the Haiti disaster and how Bush/Clinton turned it into a money laundering scheme. !BBH

looking back at what I wrote it is easy to come to the conclusion that I was blaming this on the people affected. I'll have to be more careful with my words next time :)

I do believe that some people are partially to blame especially the vacation houses on the Outer Banks but not just people looking for affordable homes inland.

Haiti, yeah, that was a fun one. Kind of neat how that all disappeared from the news once a scandal involving high ranking government people was uncovered right?
