- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance: $575 million
- EITC: $350 million
- Pell Grants: $36 million
- Social Security (based only on SSI recipients): $50 million
- Medicare (based only on SSI recipients): 90 million
- Housing vouchers, heating assistance, extended unemployment benefits, etc.: Not Included
Total: $2 billion plus
Ok, valid point, but you could put that $3 billion also intro Detroit or not?
Detroit used to be the richest city in the nation due to the auto industry.
I can't imagine how many billions of dollars in local and state taxes, let alone federal taxes, that they blew in order to put it into ruins.
