Project Details

Node.js is not a programming language but could be considered as a Java Script programming framework, although in reality the definition of framework is not entirely appropriate, as Node.js could be confused with an environment to create a particular type of applications. To be precise, Node.js is a framework / platform for running JavaScript applications
We therefore say that the most appropriate definition would be that of "platform for the execution of JavaScript applications", as we find written on the home page of the official website; in practice it is a JavaScript run-time, therefore a motor for the execution of JavaScript code.

Introduction

I'm glad that on Node.js I have the chance to start a file from scratch and working to complete its translation: in my previous project instead, there were many files partially translated by other users that had just some scatter word or sentence to render and this sometimes need more time and makes your work unpleasant and confused.
As I have already explained, the whole Italian team is working on Node.js and we are processing all the first folder (API) files, following the descending order as much as possible, to give a better translation.

Contribution Specifications

Hi there, I'm back with my 16th contribution to the translation of Node.js in Italian.
I had to split this work over several days and, when I was almost ready to submit this post, I realized (thanks to my team collaboration) that there are many errors in this project source strings: in general Node.js is well written, I haven't found any typos or special issues so far. Hence, when I was facing sentences beginning with verbs like read, initiate, write written exactly in this form (without the final "s" of the third person) I thought it was something truly intentional, because in many other cases Node.js developers wrote correctly reads, writes, etc...

Today, reviewing my translation of V8.md folder, I found a section where this discrepancy was quite clear, this is why I started to doubt. In other folders it looked not so definite, therefore I rendered those expressions literally as they were instructions for users...
Well, now I'll go back through my old translations to fix this issue.
I commented on those strings too, to draw at least the attention of the other languages translators.

Another important point we discussed in our team is the rendering of raw: we finally chose to let it in English, not to loose its original specific meaning.

Moreover this folder has been more challenging than usual, because of the presence of several technical terms such as heap, bit pattern, footprint you don't need to translate but surely you should understand their function for a better text comprehension.

Translation Overview

1. "Write vs Writes" sample

serializer.transferArrayBuffer(id, arrayBuffer)

id {integer} A 32-bit unsigned integer.

arrayBuffer {ArrayBuffer} An ArrayBuffer instance.

Marks an ArrayBuffer as havings its contents transferred out of band. Pass the corresponding ArrayBuffer in the deserializing context to [deserializer.transferArrayBuffer()][].

serializer.writeUint32(value)
value {integer}

Write a raw 32-bit unsigned integer. For use inside of a custom [serializer._writeHostObject()][].

2. "Raw" sample

Read a raw 64-bit unsigned integer and return it as an array [hi, lo] with two 32-bit unsigned integer entries. For use inside of a custom [deserializer._readHostObject()][].

3. Heap, footprint sample

does_zap_garbage is a 0/1 boolean, which signifies whether the --zap_code_space option is enabled or not. This makes V8 overwrite heap garbage with a bit pattern. The RSS footprint (resident memory set) gets bigger because it continuously touches all heap pages and that makes them less likely to get swapped out by the operating system.
