Today I wish to bring a HUGE time-saving, hassle-free software into the light: The Open Source software named Syncthing. But before I dive into the software, allow me to tell you a little bit about what I do.
I'm a video editor for our news show called The Armageddon Broadcast Network and I work with a team on almost all of our video projects. I often have to review and refine the work of other team members, and I needed a quick and easy way to get access to their project and media files for each video that they were working on.
But that's where a problem was introduced. Connecting our computers together physically is a huge hassle and rather burdensome. To my relief, a team member brought to my attention an awesome piece of Open Source software that solved all our problems...
Welcome Syncthing into the ring.
Brought to us by Jakob Borg back in 2015, "Syncthing" offers the ability to synchronize files between devices or between remote devices over the internet quickly and easily.
Here are a few of its prominent features:
Web GUI connectivity:
You can connect to Syncthing via your web browser to monitor activity, open new sync connections with other computers, and manage which folders you are sharing to whom.
Multiple OS Support:
Syncthing works with a plethora of Operating systems, including Mac OS X, Windows, Linux, FreeBSD, Solaris, and OpenBSD.
So where can I get my copy?
You can get access to this open source project here:
https://github.com/syncthing/syncthing/tree/master
Or visit their main website for download, here:

SyncTrayzor - A Windows GUI Application Build
There's a great branch of the application available on GitHub created by Canton7 that works as a Windows Tray Utility & Launcher. I personally prefer this version as it is much easier to use and more friendly to us non-code savvy individuals. ;)
Check it out here:

If it suits your needs then be sure to give it a try. You won't regret it! Special thanks to @samrg472 for first introducing me to Syncthing.

Your post is good.İs your actual job is Computer Engineering.
I am a Bishop for The Ecumenical Order of Christ and also a video editor for multiple organizations. I am not a Computer Engineer, but I do love technology! =)
Thanks for the compliment, @akkayaemre.
Best Regards
SyncThing has been a huge help! :)
It can also work over a distance. Unsure how far, because it will go much slower through different routers (maybe a mile distance is what I've worked with) So if you need to transfer something to a colleague or such overnight and they live close by, it could probably work.
It's a pretty nifty little tool, having used it myself a few times.
Syncthing is awesome to use
I need to learn all of this
Syncthing does work well... sometimes though it is not very fast if what you need to get done requires all the time you can spare. But it is a very good service
This could come in handy someday, thanks!
