TUTORIAL: Creatiing A Transparent Image Background In Photoshop

Today on tutorials I will show you how to make your image background transparent in Photoshop CS6.

Ever thought of making a transparent image on this app?

Here are some five (5) simple steps to achieving this:

Step 1.
Open the image you wish to work with.

Step 2.
Ensure there is no lock on the image layer.
If there is a lock on the image layer, double click on the layer and press OK.

Step 3.
Cutting out the background.
Pick a cutting tool, "lasso" tool prefferably.
Select the background part of the image you're working on, press "Delete" button to delete the background.
The tiny squares you see after deleting background part of the image represents the transparent areas.

It becomes totally transparent after image is saved.

Step 4.
Save image to get your transparent background.
Go to Menu>File>Save as/Save for web and devices.
Choose PNG from the options you will be given.

N/B: File types like the known JPEG will not support transparency so save file using PNG.

And ensure to recheck that your transparency box is ticked before saving your work (that is if you're saving under the Save for Web option).
"Click Save"

Finally you're done, and your image should look like this if placed on a different background.
