I am referring to character codes, not programming code. You cannot retain the character codes in Chinese, as Chinese language do not have ' etc (’ is a ') , other than the regular quotation marks.
Your reasoning is correct that if ’ is part of a programming code, than you should retain it.
This is why translator is rewarded, because human can distinguish something that the Machine Translation can not.
