Introduction
In this blog post, we'll introduce the HapRamp project-- a STEEM based social network for the creative communities.
The idea of HapRamp sprouted a year ago when we thought of creating a point rewarding platform for the creators. The initial plan was to create a platform on which the likes are equal to some points and users can use those points to buy stuff and avail offers on online shopping. While researching for the same we found Steemit and that was the moment of sheer joy, Eureka! we said.
In India, there is no shortage of talented artists and creators. But, it is tough to make a career in the fine arts and performing arts industry, the barrier to entry and the risk is high for them. In such scenario, a platform like HapRamp built on Steem Blockchain will enable them to earn value for their hard work and creativity. People will simply share the photos, videos, and blogs of their work with the fellow community members. They will share their efforts, creation, talents, and ideas. Above all the rewards will fuel their passion.
HapRamp Features
The last few months of working on Steem Blockchain, learning to use the Steem open-source libraries, understanding the needs of our community, and implementing the application were exciting.
As we are nearing the first public alpha, I thought this is the right time to start posting consistent updates on the platform. This is the first update of the series.
On HapRamp, users can select the communities of their interest out of the nine available communities. We have identified these nine categories for the platform: Art, Dance, Design, Dramatcis, Fashion, Literature, Music, Photography, and Travel.
- When signing up on HapRamp, People will get to choose their interests:
- The user feed will be created based on their interest. They can also use the category shown at the top of the screen to filter posts as per their need -
These are initial and basic steps to give users more control over their feed. Once we launch, we'll introduce more features based on the feedback from the users.
- Generally people face a little difficulty in post creation process on Steemit. The Markdown Styling is easy for the tech people and developers but others need time to get used to the editor. That's why we've implemented a WYSIWYG editor in HapRamp.
Initially we are giving two ways to share content.
One we call 'Post' and the other is 'Blog'. The terminology is not final, we are still looking for more intuitive terms to justify the meaning and usage of this feature.
- Posts are micro-blogging + 1 multi-media and tags
- Blogs are Content + multiple media files + easy to use formatting
- The published posts looks like this on the Android App.
Here are some development updates on the platform and progress on the non-tech side of our project as well.
We made the WebApp Open-source
The Alpha version of HapRamp's WebApp is open-source now, you can catch the latest update here posted by our developer (@singhpratyush) here:
https://steemit.com/utopian-io/@singhpratyush/open-sourcing-hapramp-alpha-web-app-and-adding-travis-ci
The purpose behind open-sourcing the application is to help developers who are new to the Steem development ecosystem. So they can look at it, take what is helpful for them and contribute back to new projects. I'd like to thank @utopian-io for supporting the Open-source projects with incentives and building a community around this revolution and all this would have never been possible without Steem.
What's new on the Android App
Earlier the HapRamp's Android App didn't have a feature to check the Steem balance and Steem Power. Our developer (@bxute) shared this update in a blog post:

We Moved to a New Workspace
In order to speed up the development process, we were looking for a new workspace. A better workplace means more dedicated time and focus will be on the project. Luckily, India is a supportive place for startups. There are many private and government-funded startup incubation programs in our country. After a month of hunting, applying, and pitching in front of dozens of panels we landed a few good offers for incubation. During the process, we received great advice from experts and investors to make the platform better.
We choose the one which is most suitable for our needs- - The Nasscom Startup warehouse. Nasscom Startup Warehouse is among the flagship incubation programs in India.
We chose the Gurugram startup warehouse located in the National Capital Region of India which is close to New-Delhi. That whole process of shifting took us around two weeks and that explains the delay in the launch date😅
Here is a picture of our new workspace -
What's next? - Launch
Next up, the focus is on putting the platform in the hands of Steem community as quickly as we can. If you need a reminder at the launch, don't forget to join our early invite list at https://www.hapramp.com
It is the first Steem project from India and we hope there will be many more exciting Steem based projects coming out from here soon. We'll encourage more developers to look into the possibilities that Steem Blockchain is offering and see what they can build with it.

Hello HapRamp team, welcome to Utopian. You've come with lots of news for the start, the web app and the mobile app for public use at once. That's a lot of work done here.
Regarding this post, using vertical images leaves lots of whitespace in the post and makes it less organized. You could experiment with different formatting options or edit the gifs and merge them into one image with description around it. You can find some tips and what is supported by the biggest Steem apps in this post.
Wish you good luck with the work and that you find your path to distinguish yourself from other Steem apps so that you can succeed on the blockchain.

Thank you @espoem for your feedback and wishes.
We've gone through the suggested blog for formatting tips, from the next time we'll arrange images in a better way.
Surely we need to distinguish HapRamp from other Steem apps and we are working on to build new features, you'll see a lot of new things in the coming months.
