It has been a while I posted on the series where I promote open source projects. I have been doing some work which I have not mentioned. During the week I did a promotion for Steepshot on Twitter. I will be talking about it in this post.

What is Steepshot?
You can call it the blockchain's Instagram. Steepshot.io is a social network based on the Steem blockchain, where you get rewards for sharing pictures, getting likes on them and also liking pictures. It is similar to Steemit, but this time around primarily for posting pictures, perhaps while it is the Steem Blockchain's Instagram. If you are a lover of pictures, this is a platform you should consider joining.
Here is a link to the tweet
I composed a tweet on Steepshot. I culled some words used in the tweet from their website. I added a picture, since it means a thousand words. A picture usually help to attract people to a tweet, so a picture that says why you should use the app was uses. The tweet did so well under a short time.
The tweet was posted about 48 hours ago. It was tweeted 12 - December, 2017.
The tweet was shared on my Twitter account with over 276,000 followers. The username of the twitter account is @jaff8, which is similar to that of Steemit. Normally, I tweet websites feed with this twitter account, but for the main time, for people to see this tweet, I had to deactivate the feed for some days. As a media publicist, I tried to maximize the visibility of the tweet. I pinned the tweet to my Twitter profile, since a lot of twitter followers will easily see this once they click on my profile. Also, my account appeas in most people's "accounts to follow" due to my number of followers.
What was the result?
This is the most interesting part of any online campaign. The tweet I posted was able to get some attention. Let's allow the analytics speak for itself. I was able to get some people to visit the platform, and that was really rewarding.
The tweet garnered over 6,266 impressions, the total engagement is currently 401 within about 2 days. This engagement includes the 236 retweets, 9 likes, 33 detail expands, 106 link clicks and 16 media engagements. The meaning of impressions, engagement, retweets, likes and so on was explained in my previous post in the series.
@MrSamuelAJoseph asked how the platform works via reply
I also got a reply from a user who asked more about the project, which I replied. I still have a number of questions in my DM which I am trying my best to reply to. I hope I am able to get these ones to the Steem Blockhain, since Steepshot is running on it.
It is easy to get retweets for a funny joke or a sarcastic tweet than to get for a promotional tweet. But that not withstanding, I was able to get the message to quite a number of persons.
I did this promotion due to a suggestion by a follower, if you think there is an open source project that needs some promotion hit me up, I am keen on hearing your suggestions. The blockchain technology is affecting lives already, let us all be part of it.
