Advertisements placed on 'Promoted' Category?
It seems promising for me!
The idea of Steemit as an free advertisement site isn't a good idea for me. Though Steemit runs through a blockchain database & Steems value relies on Market economy of Steem, getting some funds by companies who wanted to advertise their products in Steemit is a very good idea. I'll present my reasons below why I propose Steemit should incorporate this idea.
This is a drafting I would like to propose.
Three columns, and the rows will continue indefinitely up until the last promoted product. In terms of appearing first, it will be the same as a trending page format.
- The advertisement that has the highest user engagements (upvotes, comments, and resteems). The most important factor is the post pending payout value : the highest post pending payout will appear first on the promoted category (Could you imagine the competition of advertisements on this?). As a result, these companies will invest in SP, increasing the number of investors.
- Not only that, Steem gets advertisement fees from this companies (fixed) and the advertisement fees will be determined by Steemit company. Steemit will not intervene the payout of that post because it was voted by SP.
- Those companies will start blogging, because they only knew their ads are only placed on promoted category.
This is the current Promoted category. The idea of promoting a blog without a definite amount of fee feels bad for me.
My reasons
Adding advertisements on site with the concept of the platform will be a big help for Steemit.
- Advertisement fees which helps the Steemit platform in terms of Advertising the site to Social Media (Sooner Steemit doesn't need to spend money in promoting the site)
- Since the first to appear depends on the post pending payout value, these advertisements will compete to be appeared on top.
- As a result aside from the advertisement fees, these companies will start investing in SP to make their advertisements appear on top. I think this is a best strategy in terms of Advertising campaign here in Steemit.
- These advertisements will be removed as soon as the post gets its payout. The company needs to pay advertisement fees again for their ads to be made visible in the promoted category.
- Since they knew their ads will only be seen on promoted category, these companies will start blogging promoting their ads. A high possibility they will invest in Steem Power for their posts to be visible. Of course, there is a need for a regulation on this and Steemit is knowledgeable enough about this.

This will probably lure those huge investors here on Steemit, which is absolutely good.
With their big influence, they could contribute so much in introducing Steemit and Steem to their vast consumers. In return, Steem's value would increase due to its high popularity and demand if they'll consider buying Steem or SBD to power up.

Exactly @smaeunabs! True to that. The only concern is that they will clog the home feeds of every user. So the Steemit managing team should take control and do some strategies to have a win-win result.

I see a better Steemit if this idea will be implemented. With proper rules and handling of Advertisements, it can be a great way.
