SOFTWARE
We will be using the arduino ide, to set the sketch for this, if you dont have make sure to download the Arduino IDE for your specific operating system. ILink is provided below so that you can download the software: https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/SoftwareLIBRARIES
To run the program and to make sketching a code easily we need to download these library.Adafruit-Fingerprint-Sensor-Library; https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit-Fingerprint-Sensor-Library
After downloading the ZIP file libraries add it to your arduino IDE libraries by locating the SKETCH include library then add ZIP library and then look for your zip file on your download folder.
Step 1. Connecting the wires
- pin D2 is IN from sensor (Yellow wire)
- pin D3 is OUT from arduino (White wire)
- GND (Black)
- 5V (Red)
Step 2. Connect the arduino nano board to your computer/laptop using the Type B usb cable included in the package. open the arduino Desktop IDE locate the TOOLS verify the type of board you are using PORT should be on the COM# and the board should be on the arduino nano.
Step 3. Coding
We will be using the sketch code from the repository; https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit-Fingerprint-Sensor-Library
