5. STEEM MEETUP: The secret behind #nigeria tag rise
A steemit meet up is an event in which the long standing people on the steemit platform meet with minnows and prospective steemians. They talk to them about the platform and encourage them to be a part of the revolution.

Meet ups are for evangelism and networking. They are important part of the steemit development. Many people have positive content but they are ignorant of such a platform like steemit.
Steemit evangelism has played a critical role in the expansion of the steemit platform. I am a living testimony to that, I only joined steemit when a friend of mine @lordjames told me about it.
A total of 314 users have created 716 topics about meetups in Nigeria since the first topic was created on 13th May 2017.
Below I will be displaying the meetup topics that have been shared on steemit using atleast two tags #nigeria and #meetup which I filtered using the SQL query via steemSQL.
A cross section of some topics created with tags #nigeria and #meetup
The meetup evangelism has been very effective as seen in increase in post, comments and payout to authors.
Meetups have an average of 100 people attending, that's a good number of potential steemians

*****6. CONCLUSION*****
Statistics has proven that meetups have improved and increased the #nigeria population on Steemit. Nigeria has a population of About 185 Million people, that is a huge potential market for steemit.
The future is bringht for #nigeria with its users making wave and impact on the platform. I foresee an ever increasing population on steemit
As at January 2018, there were more than 4000 accounts with location (Nigeria) in their profile settings. This is set to increase as more meetups are planned and scheduled to invade all corners of the country by people like @xpency @nairadaddy @destinysaid @michaelcj @ejemai @stach @gbenga @mediahouseent among others.
