Dear steemuan friend.
Takengon is one of the places in Central Aceh District, Aceh Province. Takengon's name comes from the Acehnese language which means bend or bend. This is because the journey to the location must pass through hill climbs, mountain slopes, curving and steep roads.
Country on the Cloud
This place is often the destination of tourists who come. Tourists can enjoy local cuisine, beautiful natural scenery and cycling. Takengon is a plateau area, about 1200 meters above sea level. It makes the air there cool enough. The clouds can be seen clearly there, very close as if we were walking on it. Therefore Takengon called the country above the clouds.
Takengon also has several tourist attractions. Such as Lake Laut Tawar, Cave Princess Pukes, and Pantan Terong.
sea lakes
The freshwater lake is the largest lake in Nangroe Aceh Darussalam Province. The tribes that live here are Gayo tribes. They have different regional languages than other Aceh languages.
During the trip around this lake, there will be many views of the coffee garden. Coffee thrives and the quality is good. This is because the climate, temperature, and soil around it are suitable for growing coffee.
Princess Cave Pukes
This cave represents the legend of Princess Pukes, the daughter who lives in Gayo Land, Aceh. Inside this cave there is a rock that is believed to be Princess Pukes. He used to turn to stone for not doing what his mother ordered. The legend there says that the stone sometimes cries and the tears that come out are rock. The size of the stone there can be enlarged because the stone cries.
This legend becomes an interesting story that lure the tourists to come visit Cave Princess Pukes. Because they want to see it directly.
Pantan Terong
From Takengon city, the distance to this place is about 7.5 kilometers. Not too far away, just spend 15 minutes. At the moment to this place, it is hoped to be careful because the road is steep. This place is very fitting to release tired and refresh the mind. Because of this place we can see the beauty of freshwater lake.
