Manjaro is a rolling release scheme. The Ubuntu based distros are not. Coming to a personal preference therein in is not quite easy.

I really like to advise Manjaro, it is not as cutting edge as Arch due to it's Manjaro specific repos, but has a very good kernel-switch app. You cannot do that easily with Ubuntu. And you never have to do a distro upgrade with all the risks of that.
