I am proposing the direct messaging functions on steemit,
Steemit is a social media app,
Note the word social media.
Social media means a place u can interact and share ideas,
And dear steemians thats what we are doing infact steemit.com is a social media done right kinda thing,
Where we benefits from it in so many different ways.
We learn new things everyday,
We invest for a brighter future and that is as sure as Hope.
We improved our writing skills from blogging on steemit

Example that's me,
Inface steemit has done more Good than harm in every aspect of social media platform, only thats in my own part,
Steemit has made me an addict, just too addicted,
Well every thing has its advantages and disadvantages,
But theirs just one thing missing from steemit that would have been so Lovely
"direct messaging"
i know we all believe steemit. Chat is the official messager of steemit.Com,
Well its also a good idea to seperate them from different hosting and source either because of security i guess.
but at the end of the day we should ask our self what really is missing,
Have you been in a state where you wanna chat some one on steemit but you don't have tge username of the steemit chat and u have to speak openly on the comment box before his credentials of steemit.Chat can be given to you,
Its kinda awful you know, the wait and all that,
I think a Direct message tap should be included on steemit for some little privacy or all that,
Or maybe from day one, it was all planned,
And the concept of not putting messager on the same platform with the community was ideal,
well its kinda understandable,its just and shows transparency for the Steemit Open source community,
But well If the direct message functions will not be added or taken into consideration for better communication of each steemians and to boast time spent on the site from messaging each friendly steemians, its great.
It's great still won't lie you.
But At least i advice Steemit.chat should be integrated to steemit in order to make the steemit families closer,
**It should be integrated to the users profile or set up in such a way that when its click message page appears to send mesaage even with a user login to steemit. Chat.
And if its ever taken Into consideration i recommend the massager tab should have and contain the "block" button and also the delete button to delete and block both users and their conversation should be added,
cause in every Jesus theirs a Judas and in every Caesar theirs a Brutus,
Definitely they must be some spammers out their who after we spent so much time preaching to them would still abuse this functions and all that.
With this functions, it will be a lot easier to communicate on the steemit platform

Thanks for that post. I think this topic will cause some debates. I was immediately looking for that feature, when i started on steemit a few days ago. I think introducing it would lead to a decrease in comments and maybe thats the reason why they have not yet implemented it? I would love to see that feature tho :) Greetings, leon!
About the decrease in comment, you are right about that, before i post this i had to take lots of things into consideration, like the benefits and all,, but sometimes you just wanna dm some one privately but you just can't do that immediately not untill you have to ask the user for his cc on another messaging app, and its kinda take long time,, and the disadvantages also is their of having the direct messaging like spamming and all that, disturbing a user,secret insults and all, 😁 😀, thats why i said if it cant be possible, the steemchat should be integrated to. The profile, in such a way a user can input his user name and its merge, so when another user wants to chat with the steemian, he gets redirected to steemit.chat address and the user can chat directly to the user,directly like a messager and not like he logged on to a site(steemit. Chat) , hope its a good feature, cause if steemit should have a inbuilt message facility,, i think it will affect the over all activities of the site, in some ways, but its kinda awesome to chat with someone u have lots to talk to, i think steemit. Chat should be integrated, in the way i. Mentioned above/

I'm afraid of misusing this feature by many users. And the spam part is a nightmare. So I think we'll need a lot of limitations in this feature like the daily messages and who is able to send you messages like the people you're following and so on or just make that as an option in the settings.
Yeah, I love this idea too, but its limits definitely would have to be able to be tailored to fit each user's preferences.
With the ability to tweak this, however, it could prove to be very useful indeed for those who are interested. I almost never go over to another service to chat re; Steemit, just due to inconvenience and not total lack of interest. But, I would be somewhat open to that if it was integrated right into the platform here itself, within limits.
I'm not certain how content providers would feel about this though. It's work enough nurturing a fruitful discussion in the comments section that will actually garner upvotes these days; I can't imagine adding the implications of DM functionality to that as well.
This is Lovely,, i concur with this,, their should be a limitation like you started above, like who to send you a message, how many messages is allowed par day, or who so ever you follow
Good call, it sucks having to go over to discord or steemit chat to communicate.

I prefer discord to steemitchat,, cause steemitchat is just too slow to Load on my phone, i get tired watching the pendulums loading (like i called those lines,)
Agreed, i dont even bother with steemit chat anymore. The platform needs an upgrade forsure! They kind of dropped the ball on that.
💯 percent agreed, they just left the site to be, even when it needs so many feature to stand out as a messager you see.
I was also looking for this when I started using steemit a month ago.
I will share my thihen on this topic. Yes comments will become less @embutv, but I think most of the spam comments will be decreased. Most spammers comments on the posts asking to upvote and resteem and follow. I think that will be reduced since he/she can ask privately to the person. I'm also looking forward for this @marshalllife.
And about the spammers, there are many ways to deal with them. Steemit platform still has many good tough features to be added.

Lols @mike50 do you know i just found a way to deal with scammers,who keeo disturbing the messagers peace 😁 😀,, well i think if this should ever be implemented, the intergrated messager,should have a feature or a button of contacting @steemcleaner or any other steemit cleaners,( @steemitcleaner) on any message sent from the spam send or The message the steemian see as spam,so steemit cleaners can look into the message sent, (note** once the spam button has been triggered to steemcleaners, the message sent by the spammers becomes visible to steemcleaners, to investigate the body of the message , for them to take necessary actions, on the spammer.

Yeaaa, you are right about this also, but i the founder might have thought about this also, if every suggestions on steemit by contributors should be included on the platform without properly authenticating it,, it may cause steemit to lose its beauty and depreciated, i think voting implies you sincerly love it, but what about some one that doesn't have a higher SP TO show how he loved the post,, i think the Reaction buttons feature should be invented to steemit.
