Hello, Steemians...
Talking about migration certainly reminds us of school lessons, which is a sentence that defines a settled migration from one place to another that transcends internal administrative boundaries, but I do not mean here is a migration of population movements but rather a opensource community is an open source community "Linux Migration" that has been created by Indonesian students who increasingly increasing the day used by the lovers of open source technology Indonesia.

Open source technology is growing rapidly in a significant timeframe and no doubt open source technology, as the users of this technology is increasingly growing, one of them is with the open source Indonesia community movement, among open source Indonesia's tech lovers "Migration Movement Linux ".

Before we get to know more about migration movement of Linux, maybe we should first know one of open surce technology, that is LINUX.

What is Linux?
According to one source, Linux is a Kernel developed from a UNIX system in 1991, by a technology scientist named Linus Benedict Torvalds. a common system and literature tool derived from the GNU operating system, announced by Richard in 1983.

GNU's contribution is the basis for the emergence of GNU / Linux.
Linux has long been used on servers, powered by renowned computer companies such as Intel, Dell, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Novell, Oracle Corporation, Red Hat and Sun Microsystems.

Linux is used as an operating system on various types of computer hardware, including desktop computers, super computers, and embedded systems, such as electronic book readers, video game systems (PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3 and XBox), mobile phones and routers.

Linux operating systems known as Linux distributions or Linux distributions generally include supporting software such as web servers, programming languages, databases, desktop displays such as GNOME, KDE and Xfce, which also have office suite applications such as OpenOffice.org, KOffice, Abiword, Gnumeric and LibreOffice.

What is a Linux Migration?
Linux Migration is a Community for Open source technology enthusiasts. according to the news, the community was originally founded by a student from Purbalingga, Indonesia Central Java, Zufar Dhiyaulhaq, who uses social media facebook as a means to promote, Linux Migration also embraces other Linux communities.

This migration movement of Linux has been developed in various regions in Indonesia and has given birth to many migration migrants Linux, for more details you can directly visit the official website of Migration Linux at www.migrasilinux.or.id, or it could be through Fanspage facebook on Linux Migration .

Linux migration is a volunteer community that focuses on campaigning and introducing GNU / Linux operating systems to the general public.

What's wrong with Linux, why should we migrate to linux?
1. Free
Exactly, using linux we will avoid the burden of a very expensive license, and we also avoid the applications that we should buy a fairly expensive price as well. but have the same quality both with existing applications on linux.

Just imagine, if we use windows (genuine, not pirated windows), we can spend around $ 356 - $ 1.29, let alone the latest windows ie windows 10. not Osnya version is expensive, but the supporting application is also very expensive.

For example just like microsoft office, which costs about $ 223 - $ 1.091, we also have to buy antivirusnya. So is the application such as adobe photoshop, corel, etc. can you imagine, how much it costs out of your pocket to fulfill it all compared to using linux.

2. Avoidance of Violations / Laws.
Maybe this second sounds a bit mainstream, because some people who use windows, do not want to buy the OS, in other words, they do burglary, to get the free is by using any means or with crack. However, if we use linux (free), we will not get caught in the case of such a theft practice.

3. Linux is open source (free license).
In addition to free, linux can we operate in accordance with our wishes, even do mastering to make a personal distro that must be very fun.

4. Linux is very secure.
Viruses that want to attack the computer device is not so easy The existing antivirus in linux is able to protect against virus attacks on our computer, so migrations to linux and feel comfortable because there is no virus entry. linux is very secure, Because the building system built linux different from windows system. the windows virus can not break into linux system, because windows virus can not recognize existing linux code. But why not created a special virus linux?
it turns out the "Hackers" are lovers and fans of linux".

5. Easy and User friendly.
The windows users will think that using linux is complicated, full of code, and not user friendly. it's really true, but it's linux of old. Linux is now implemented Desktop Environment such as GNOME, UNITY, KDE, LXDE, which may be all the more perfect in windows compare, each version only use one view only.

Those are some of the advantages Linux has. free, away from law seal, open source, safe and easy.

So what can I describe faced steemians colleagues, hopefully opensource community Indonesia is increasing and growing in the eyes of the world.

Thank you, hopefully many benefits that we can take from open source technology.
