@naufal was kind enough to point out the difference between Steem and Steemit copyright protection. Now that I am thus enlightened, I recommend using the logo version with STEEM icon. Here's a revised mockup highlighting that logo instead:

Steemit logo is under copyright, you can't use it without permission.

Good catch. So if I'm reading that correctly, we're free to use the blue Steem logo. It's the green Steemit logo that is protected. I'll create a mockup with that version instead. Thanks!
