Hello, this is my 40th open source contribution for Utopian and DaVinci as translator. I have been translating different Node.js Files during the past few months.I started translating the "TLS" file, which is very interesting and has a lot of new information that could be useful for those who will start working with Node.js. This file is about security and cipher.
I work with an extensive team of translators team whose performance has been excellent. By this time a 51% of this huge project has been translated in just a few months; I think we are working very fast!
I invite you to read this translation report for more information about this interesting file. Also, you can read my previous reports to have much more information about all of the files I've translated. If you like technology, programming and development, this is a post that you will be interested in.

Node.js is an open-source, cross-platform JavaScript run-time environment that executes JavaScript code outside of a browser. It lets developers use JavaScript to write Command Line tools and for server-side scripting to produce dynamic web page content before the page is sent to the user's web browser. Consequently, Node.js represents a "JavaScript everywhere" paradigm,[6] unifying web application development around a single programming language, rather than different languages for server side and client side scripts.
It looks difficult to understand at first, but let me explain it with the next example.
Imagine that you have been developing a new android app that uses the APIs from Google Maps and Twitter. When testing the app, you realize that both APIs are written in different languages and you must change one of them to make it work, but that's a lot of work and goes against the reasons to use an API. Node.js is the solution to problems like this because it allows the union between different programming languages without affecting its performance.
It is important clarify that Node.js also includes lots of functionalities: security, resource management, languages unification, etc. This features make it a very useful software that provides an easy way to develop and improve new software solutions.
I decided to translate this project because I'm an engineering student and innovation is my passion; I love creating solutions to problems like this. Also, I like sharing information and a way to do it is translating the content of a big project like this so people around the world can access to it and share it too.

This part of the translation was about some events that are part of the TLS/SSL module, each event has its own features and functions in Node.js. I must clarify that this translation is from Node,js v8.x. It is also necessary say that I will explain the most important events of this part.
The first event is OCSPRequest, that is emitted when a certificate status request is sent. This is useful to know about the current certificate status of Node.js so the user can be warned when the expiration's date get closer. This callback of the event has three arguments as shown.
The event secureConnection is emitted when a connection has been successfully established, it means that both the client and server verified the certificate because a secure connection is needed. This event uses boolean functions to verify if the certificate has been checked by a Certification Authority. The callback receive a single argument.
The event tlsClientError is emitted when an error occurs before the successful establishment of a secure connection. The callback receive two arguments as shown.
The event secureConnect is emitted when a handshaking process has successfully completed. This event verify whether the certificate was checked and authorized. It is necessary that the user verify that the certificate has the sign of a CA so the event can be emitted.
- Language
The original language of this TLS file is English and it was translated into Spanish, which is my native language. I have experience translating in projects like Loopring wallet and Yapbam. These projects make me grow and learn a lot about open source projects.
During my years of study I developed a lot of abilities in translations because most of the books I used were in English (their native language) and was necessary understand their content (and learn English at the same time).
The following are some examples of my translation:
English
If either ALPN or NPN was used, the <0>tlsSocket.alpnProtocol</0> or <0>tlsSocket.npnProtocol</0> properties can be checked to determine the negotiated protocol.
Spanish
Si se utilizó ALPN o NPN, las propiedades <0>tlsSocket.alpnProtocol</0> o <0>tlsSocket.npnProtocol</0> pueden verificarse para determinar el protocolo negociado.
English
<0>Note</0>: Methods that return TLS connection metadata (e.g. [<1>tls.TLSSocket.getPeerCertificate()</1>][] will only return data while the connection is open.
Spanish
<0>Nota</0>: Los métodos que devuelven los metadatos de conexión TLS (p.ej., [<1>tls.TLSSocket.getPeerCertificate()</1>][] solo devolverán los datos mientras la conexión esté abierta).
English
Note that depending on the settings of the TLS server, unauthorized connections may still be accepted.
Spanish
Tenga en cuenta que, dependiendo de la configuración del servidor TLS, las conexiones no autorizadas aún pueden ser aceptadas.
English
The server's current certificate can be parsed to obtain the OCSP URL and certificate ID; after obtaining an OCSP response, <0>callback(null, resp)</0> is then invoked, where <0>resp</0> is a <0>Buffer</0> instance containing the OCSP response.
Spanish
El certificado actual del servidor puede ser analizado para obtener el URL del OCSP y la identificación del certificado; luego de recibir una respuesta del OCSP, se invoca <0>callback(null, resp)</0>, donde <0>resp</0> es una instancia <0>Buffer</0> que contiene la respuesta del OCSP.
The translation is longer than I showed in those examples, but are just a few examples.
- Word Count
In Crowdin reports, there are 1311 translated words. Nonetheless, some of them are non-translatable, so the translation consist on 1093 words.
