Adding An " Incognito Mode " on Mozilla Firefox | A Suggestion for Developing For A More User-Friendly Web Browser

in #utopian-io7 years ago (edited)

This suggestion is for Mozilla Firefox, an open source Web browser.

What is Mozilla Firefox?

Mozilla Firefox (or simply Firefox) is a free and open-source web browser developed by Mozilla Foundation and its subsidiary, Mozilla Corporation. Firefox is available for Windows, macOS and Linux operating systems. Its sibling, Firefox for Android, is available for Android. Firefox uses the Gecko layout engine to render web pages, which implements current and anticipated web standards. An additional version, Firefox for iOS, was released in late 2015; however, because of artificial restrictions imposed by Apple Inc., it is forced to use the platform-bundled WebKit layout engine. It is created by a global non-profit dedicated to putting individuals in control online.

Suggestion

My suggestion is as stated in the title of this article, I would like to suggest about adding an " INCOGNITO MODE " to this Open Source Web browser.

Well, if we are going to take a look at it, this Web Browser is doing a great job when you are using it as a browser while surfing the internet since it has simple features and browses a fast internet connection. However, on this web browser there are things like " privacy " which was not taken into consideration. Privacy is needed by every user. Also, for example in most of the Internet Cafes, they are using Mozilla Firefox as a Main Web Browser. And once a user is using this Web Browser without having his own " privacy " on the activities he had while browsing, there is a probability that it could harm his credentials. For example if his passwords have been accidentally saved at that Internet Cafe's Browser, many consequences may occur such as his account may be hacked.

Advantage of the Suggestion (What happens when you browse privately?)

If you don’t want Mozilla Firefox to remember your activities, you can browse the web privately in Incognito mode. While using Incognito Mode, it runs in a separate window from your normal browsing window which means the activities that you are doing will not be recorded and/or monitored by the browser.

  1. Mozilla Firefox won't save your browsing history, cookies and site data, or information entered in forms.
  2. Files you download and bookmarks you create will be kept.
  3. Your activity isn’t hidden from websites you visit, your employer or school, or your internet service provider.
  4. Mozilla Firefox will be able to give you that privacy you need as a user. Not only that, it will be for the advantage of both the user and the management.
  5. New development for the features and format of the Mozilla Firefox.

Hello @renz1995, your contribution could not be approved.
Firefox browser is not an open source project on github. Also, the feature which you are suggesting already exist in the firefox browser.
I can see that this is your first contribution in the utopian community, welcome. if you have any question, please kindly contact us on discord. Thank you.
