Now everyone gets voted by the bot, ALWAYS.
As long as you prevent abuse and the moderators work on ensuring users get rewarded according to the effort put in. I assume you do, because I personally see no reason why a simple interface translation or feature suggestion get the same upvote from the utopian bot as a major contribution to an open source project.
With great power comes great responsibility. But I am sure you know that. :)
Well @techslut there are the moderators and still the weight is based on the params we already had. Low quality contributions may end up getting almost nothing because a small portion is reserved to them! :)
Good. Quality moderation and fair rewards are key to attracting more developers to the platform. I tried to get one of my SOs to join. He looked at the feed and was like: "Why is this guy getting so much for a 4 line code contribution? It's worthless!"
In any case - keep up the awesome work, man. So... as much as I try and recruit developer friends, there are still challenges. Perhaps what @scipio suggested might help - better copywriting and FAQs for newcomers. Heck, took me forever and some personal support from you guys to figure out what's what in order to attempt a contribution. Simplifying that can go a long way.
I agree @techslut. In the new version of Utopian, ready within few months, project owners will also have some sort of control on the vote weight so to bring a more human approach into the voting flow ;) We are on everything! :D
Perhaps you should have challenged your SO. "Don't you see? You're a much greater developer. Do you imagine how much more you can make?"
Yeah, I am trying. Not easy. Men. :sigh:
Lol. In due time. :D
