  • This is my logo design contribution to "OSC-CRYSTAL" which is an Open Sound Control implementations in Crystal. This implementation is based on the Open Sound Control 1.0 Specification and including some extensions (extra type-tag and dispatching). To learn more about the project, just click the repository link placed on top of this post.

I was able to design and provide this logo to OSC-CRYSTAL because the owner of this project was the owner of the previous project that I have contributed too which is "QUARTZ". You can check my blogs and see my post about Quartz if you want to view the first time I conversed with the owner. I asked him if I can also design to his other project which is this one and gladly he allowed me. He liked my initial design a lot and that's when I finalized all the files and made a pull-request for merging. Now it is displayed in the project's Github page and I would also want to present it to you so here it is, My logo design for OSC-CRYSTAL! I hope you like it!

Hey there @tobaloidee,

This logo looks great, excellent execution of an idea that really communicates what the project does while looking slick and eye-catching. That you invoke the 3D hexagon of the Crystal Language logo in this case is great, since the Crystal language is something the project is actually tied to. It made me curious about the Crystal language project. Bringing attention to other open source projects is something you can be proud of.

One comment about design: while the range of sizes the logo's equalizer aspect is understandable at is impressive, it still ceases to be understandable at the size you typically see for small web favicons (16x16). Depending on where the project goes that might not be a problem, but if it ever got its own website it might be. Here's an example of how it looks in a tab in my own browser, where I converted the ai into an ico file via convertio.co and created a test html page:

One comment about branding: the Quartz logo and this logo could look more like they're from the same "family", for example, with similar font faces.
