I suggest adding a new user interface element to Steemit.com that appears near the main navigation.
Proposal
There is currently no obvious source of realtime information regarding the price of Steem and Steem Backed Dollars in the User Interface of Steemit.com. This is quite a glaring oversight, since it is one of the most discussed topics on the sight and effects everyone who visits. A strong valuation for the coins may also generate new signups among users who visit to read the blogs but stay for the other benefits Steem has to offer.
I suggest a simple addition of the prices of Steem and SBD, along with a small graph to show the recent activity of the coins, plus their percentage gain/loss over the previous 24 hours - as appears in the main listing of coins on coinmarketcap.com.
The tickers can either be hidden or displayed according to the preference of each user.
Mockups / Examples
I have made a crude mockup here to demonstrate the concept, but the actual implementation would be more visually appealing and may include additional information such as market cap and other relevant values.
Benefits
Users of Steemit generally have an interest in viewing the value of Steem and SBDs, so may regularly leave the website to check the prices on other sites - which may lead them to leave Steemit and use it less in some cases due to distraction. By showing the prices in the UI of Steemit, this will be eliminated. Additionally, users may take more interest in the currnecies by being reminded of them and more interest in general can be generated in the currencies and Steemit's Blockchain foundation.

Super fantastic idea. Yes please! I know steemit inc asked for suggestions.
For me, I don't like to see the price of what I am investing in constantly thrown in my face minute by minute, because if it tanks, I may be more willing to sell in the heat of the moment. I rarely check my blockfolio, because If I did daily, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night. Just my opinion
